Morgan closed her eyes and kissed Asher right back. She was impressed, since he never kissed anyone, and he was a pretty good kisser. Her stomach did a backwards flip and she wondered why this was the first time- besides her actual first kiss- that she was nervous. She concluded that it must be because above all, she wanted to impress Asher. All the other boys didn't care about anything besides the way she kissed, the way she looked without clothes on, and the way she had sex. So, she didn't try as hard. But, they all still thought she was pretty sexy.

Asher kind of felt relieved that she hadn't seemed to find anything too awful about what he was doing so far. He's visualised, in the moments before he kissed her again, her trying not to laugh, or something like that. But instead they just kissed while his heart raced and he felt something quite unlike anything else. If he had known that she was nervous because she was afraid she couldn't impress him, he would have simply told her that she already did, she had impressed him for a long time. Without her realising it, she was beautiful to him, whatever she did, whether she laughed, smiled, or cried. He pulled away only when he really needed air, and there was still a hint of reluctancy about it then, and just sort of gazed at her, and in his eyes there was something a little more intense, even than usual, and he smiled slightly.

Morgan grinned at Asher, absolutely loving the look in his eyes at the moment. They didn't intimidate her nearly as much anymore, though she found them a thousand times more attractive by the second. She didn't know what to say, so she just gazed back into Asher's eyes. The silence didn't feel awkward to her- it felt right. Just like the perfect kiss they had just experienced together.

Asher caressed her cheek with the hand that held her face, and his smile widened. He didn't know what else to say, other than, "Wow," which he whispered with slight exasperation. That was about as close to describing the kiss as he could get.

Morgan closed her eyes as Asher stroked her cheek. She tried not to shiver as chills went down her spine at his touch. She opened her eyes again, and giggled a little at Asher's comment. Morgan thought it was cute that he had said 'wow'. Her phone started ringing on the other side of the room. "What a way to ruin the moment." Morgan said, rolling her eyes, and trying to ignore the ringing.

Asher had to chuckle a little bit at the faint ringing from the other side of the room. He smiled and asked, her, "Do you want to go get it? It's fine, the moment has well and truly been invaded." Honestly, he could have stood there all night and it still would have been perfect, but, well, at least it gave them something to talk about it.

"I guess I probably should..." Morgan reluctantly let go of Asher and headed towards her bag. She found her phone and looked over to Asher. "You want to answer it? It's Riley." she said, not really wanting to answer it herself. She really didn't want to ruin her good mood.

Asher hesitated for a moment before he nodded and took Morgan's phone. He figured he'd rather speak to Riley than have Riley speak to Morgan. He picked it up. "Hello?" he said, wondering what Riley could be calling about. Frankly, he didn't like it, but that was hardly surprising.

"Hey ba-" Riley started to say, not realizing it wasn't Morgan. Once he realized Morgan's voice wasn't as deep as the voice that had answered the phone, he smirked. "She get into your pants yet? Oh, that's right, she can't. Sucks that you'll have to wait nine months to lose your V-card to her."

Morgan stood next to Asher, close enough so she could hear what Riley had to say. When she heard his comment, she narrowed her eyes at the phone and stormed off. She decided she didn't want to hear anymore of it. She sat down in the corner, and just watched Asher.

"Oh, hey.. babe, I'm glad you're still calling me that even after our little fall out earlier," Asher replied, his tone thick with sarcasm. He felt that the comment applied to both Morgan and Asher's relationships with Riley, and he frowned as he leaned against the wall. He was amazed that Riley didn't get the message, that he still called her some kind of pet name even after Morgan had made it clear it was over. He then said, "Wow, that really is all you think about. And you think you have the right to make a joke about it, when this is your baby you're talking about? What are you calling her for, anyway? Looking for somebody to f***, hoping you'll win her over with false apologies?"

Riley chuckled. "Morgan's probably not even sure it's mine. She's just a **** who isn't good at anything but sex. Even if it is mine, it'll be just as stupid as her and her brother. I don't care if it's my kid. I'm not helping out. I just called to let her know that if she wants to **** again, to come over. Because once she gets fat, I'll pretend like nothing happened. But until then, I'm not going to leave you alone."

"Morgan is good at a lot of things, you're the stupid one if you can't see that," Asher replied. "And, well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but she's not going to be f*cking anyone, especially not you. And if you come anywhere near her, I swear to God, you'll wish you hadn't. You can sleep around all you want with somebody who isn't taken."

"Taken, huh? So she finally felt sorry enough for you to be your pity girlfriend? Good. Obviously, it would be too hard to go out of your league. Morgan's in everyone's league, so..." Riley chuckled. He wasn't afraid of Asher, even though he probably should have been. "You? Hurt me? Yeah, right, keep dreamin' kid."

Morgan could tell Asher was getting upset, so she stood and made her way over to him. As soon as she was standing next to him, she took his hand and murmured, "You can hang up if you want to..."

Pity girlfriend. That comment stung a bit. And it showed in his eyes, even if he had hidden it from everywhere else.. He didn't believe anything that Riley said, but even just the thought hurt him because he imagined it would be perfectly feasible for that to be the case; he felt like the idea that somebody really liked him was a stretch too far sometimes. But he believed Morgan did, because he believed her more than anybody, she didn't lie to him about anything; she'd told him things that she'd never told anybody else, just as he had with her. So, he kept a brave face and said, to Riley, "Well, I know she's way out of your league." He knew that Riley wasn't afraid of him, and normally he needn't be because Asher was so shy, but this was about Morgan. "Maybe I won't hurt you, that sounds more like the kind of thing you'd do to me. But if you hurt Morgan.." He trailed off, his voice still unbelievably calm despite the provocation he was getting. "Just leave her alone." He felt better when Morgan was at his side again, and decided he would listen to what Riley had to say, and then hang up.

"Oh? She's out of my league? A ****? Just face it, dude. Morgan's good for one thing. And she knows it. So she's in a league of her own. One anyone can obtain. Listen, I'm not going to hurt Morgan. I care about her. Okay, that's a lie, but how much more hurt can I put on her? I've cheated on her, annoyed her about it, and now I've gotten her eggo preggo and I'm not going to pay any attention to her. It's nearly impossible for me to hurt her anymore. But, if I think of anything, I'll be doing it." And with those last words, Riley hung up the phone.

Morgan just stayed silent after hearing all of that. She fought back the tears, hating the fact that Riley knew where the blows would hurt the most. Carefully, she took the phone out of Asher's hand and looked at the time. Nearly 10:30. She really didn't care about getting home late, but asked Asher, "Do you want to go home now?"

Asher sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. It took a lot to make Asher angry, so Riley really knew how to get to him. He ignored Morgan's question for now, having seen how upset she was, and took her into his arms in a tight, almost protective hug. He then pulled back so that he could look at her and told her softly, "Don't listen to a word he says, Morgan. He's saying these things because really he does care that you don't want to see him anymore, and so he doesn't want there to be anything that makes you happy, and that's why he's trying to get me to think differently of you, so I'll leave. But I'll always be here, and I won't let him anywhere near you, I promise." He repeated, "Just don't listen to him. I know don't know a lot about people, but I do know a lot about people like him." Unfortunately, he'd had to learn about them the hard way, too. He wanted to make sure she was okay before he went back to her question. He replied with, "I don't mind. You're welcome to a coffee at mine, if you'd still like, or if you want me to take you home that's fine, too, or we don't have to go anywhere, I'm not in a hurry."

"Can we just stay here for a while longer?" Morgan asked, a bit meekly. She sat on the floor, and motioned for Asher to join her. Her hands had started to shake, and whether it was from anger, sadness, or a mixture of both, she was trying to make them stop. Clasping her hands together, she put on her best fake smile, which looked relatively real, and looked over at Asher. She sighed, and realized that he would see right through the smile. "I"m sorry- I should have just ignored him. Now we're both upset."

"Sure," Asher replied softly, and sat down next to her. He shook his head when she apologised and told her, "It's not your fault. And he was going to say it sometime anyway, it all sounded pretty well rehearsed to me." He saw her shaking hands and felt a pang of sadness, and a great deal of sympathy for her; as if she wasn't going through enough already, Riley just couldn't leave it all alone, and instead he had to say something really spiteful like that to make matters worse for her. And he was frustrated with himself because he wasn't sure what he could or should do, he wasn't sure how to be the perfect boyfriend to her. He tentatively moved his hand to take both of hers while she still held them together, just gently, to steady them, even if just a little bit. "He really has no idea what he's missing, you know. If I lost you, for whatever reason, I'd give anything to have you back again."

Morgan, still shaking slightly, scooted closer to Asher. She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, trying to make everything except the two of them go away. It wasn't working, which cause Morgan to get even more frustrated. "Asher..." Morgan started to say, as she looked up at him. Her eyes met his and she lost her breath. "I'm really glad to have someone like you."

Asher wrapped his arm around Morgan's shoulders and held her close. He smiled down at her reassuringly, and told her, "Well, I'm really glad to have you, too. I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me.. And you should know that I'll always be here for you." He didn't really feel like that summed up enough what he thought of her at all, but he wasn't too good at expressing how he felt through words, especially because it was something he wasn't used to, either.
