"I don't have any friends. I doubt people in school even noticed I was new when I got here. I had a couple of guys who I guess I could consider as friends-- maybe," Asher said, "but otherwise I have noone. They're not the kind of people I'd tell about my problems, they probably had no idea what was going on in my life." He paused to chuckle and shake his head a little. "I guess I'm a little bit of a sad specimen, never had a girlfriend, or even a friend who's a girl, a close guy friend.. I never go out anywhere with people, just myself.."

"So...I'm your first friend that's a girl?" Morgan asked. She thought for a moment. "Well, you are my first friend that's a guy. Unless you count friends with benefits...but I wouldn't really count those." After turning a corner, she asked, "If you've never had a girlfriend, does that mean that you've never kissed anyone? And you know, I don't know why you don't have bunches of friends-- you're one of the greatest people I know."

Asher nodded and said, "Yeah, you are. And I think that you're the first person I really felt comfortable confiding in, besides my sister. I've told you things I've only ever told her, and even some things I haven't told anyone." He paused for a moment, running a hand back through his hair, "That's right," he replied, "I don't think I've ever even gotten close to a girl or touched her that way, and guys, believe it or not, aren't my preference," he chuckled, "So I've never kissed anyone." He smiled a bit wider, appreciatively at what she'd said to him, "I don't know, maybe if I actually tried to talk to people, it might help.. But I don't think so. Thank you, though. I could certainly say the same thing about you."

"Wow." Morgan said quietly. She pulled into a driveway and said, "I'll be right back, I'm taking Cody inside to my Grandma's house. You can stay in here if you want." She woke Cody up and took him inside.

Asher just nodded and stayed put in the car, figuring there wasn't exactly any particular reason to get out anyway, and waited for Morgan to return. He watched at how good she was with Cody; not many people would give as much time and love to their younger --and not only that, but troubled-- sibling as Morgan did to Cody.

"Okay, good," Asher nodded. He watched out the window, trying to memorise how to get to the ice cream place for another time, but with it being so dark and snowy, it was impossible to really see enough to depict a route.

Morgan pulled into the parking lot of a small little ice cream shop. "Come on." she said, "If this doesn't make you feel better, I don't know what will." She turned off the car and got out.

"I'm feeling a little better already," Asher smiled, getting out of the car and heading in with her, looking excited already. He did love food, but particularly ice cream, really. He also loved these little hidden away independent places, they always seemed to do the best things.

Morgan walked int the door and the owner greeted her warmly.

"Morgan!" said the fat owner.

"Hey, Richie! This is my friend, Asher." Morgan said, gesturing to Asher.

Richie nodded and smiled. "What can I get for you, young man? And Morgan? I assume it's the usual?" Morgan nodded.

"Ah, right. That sounds amazing actually," Asher said, contemplating that. He then looked at the flavours and then settled on something. He said to the owner, "Okay, and I'll have a scoop of cookie dough and a scoop of rocky road, also on a chocolate dipped waffle cone, please."

The owner handed Morgan and Asher their ice cream cones a minute later. Morgan pulled out a ten from her back pocket and handed it to the owner. She took a bite of her ice cream and closed her eyes happily.

Asher fumbled around in his pocket for his wallet with his free hand and meanwhile asked Morgan, "How much do I owe you?" Until she answered, wallet now in hand, he took a bite from his ice cream and smiled, because it was some of the best ice cream he'd had, he reckoned.
