I almost died it was so gorgeous xD

I'll be back later. A much less scary appointment today, to the hairdressers xD

The other vampires were playing defensively, just as they'd been ordered to do. Brandon was so full of adrenaline the pain of Max's successful attacks was almost completely numbed. He knew his best attempt at a victory was to play mind games with him, since he couldn't attack. He began thinking of ways to mess with him.

Max snarled, biting into Brandon's arm. "You smell disgusting," he told Brandon, snarling even louder than before.

The other wolves were trying their best to lower the vampire defenses, but they were evenly matched. Prudence, however, was taking werewolves down, one by one. Any that attacked her were out cold in a few minutes.

Lucy was making sure that Sadie was physically okay. But something seemed wrong. She was sweating, she couldn't really focus.

"Sadie, are you all right? You don't look good."

Lying, Sadie said, "Lucy, I'm fine. Just scared." But her voice was completely calm.

 

[KERFUFFLE]

Brandon smirked slightly. "Oh, I'm sorry you can't handle clean smelling things, pup. I can tell that since you smell like a wet, dirty mutt," he replied mockingly. Of course, fighting off Max would be harder. He was stronger than the other vampires, and he probably could have taken the other wolves down easily. Max, however, was much more powerful than the rest of them. The hand on the end of the arm that Max was biting found the wolf's throat, crushing it like a vice.

"You know, what amazes me about you is how you feel about Sadie. And how, if you love her that much, you're selfish enough to try and take away her happiness. What a sad, lonely life you must lead. And to want to kill her own child, too. It's too late, you know, it's coming sooner than even I thought it would, and it's much easier to protect once it's out."

Max growled, tightening his grip on Brandon's arm. "Say that again and it won't be your arm I'm biting, you leech! I've known Sadie since the scum she used to date tried killing her. I've been trying to protect her from monsters like you!"

Prudence had been knocked down by a she-wolf, and that made her mad. She jumped to her feet, and brought the wolf to the ground, punching her.

 

[KERFUFFLE]

I had quite a lot cut off, but it looks amazing <3

And much blonder again, since it's been tidied up I love it.

"She'll never forgive you for this. She wasn't going to let me come because she didn't want me getting hurt. So you're already in trouble. Kill me. I'm not afraid to die as long as Sadie survives, but then you'll have to deal with her afterwards," he continued, ignoring Max's threats. They were, of course, mind games, but they were perfectly true, too.

Max seemed to pause momentarily, before letting go, and biting his leg viciously. "SHUT UP!" He roared.

The fighting seemed to go on forever. This way and that, it almost moved in slow motion. But then a new figure joined the panic. It was Lucy.

"Help!" She screamed. "Somebody! Sadie's going into labor, right now! It won't be long! Stop fighting, we have a big problem here! She'll die if we don't do something!" Lucy was now wailing, trying to stop the frenzied madness.

Bit by bit, the fighting seemed to cease, but only for a few people. The others were still tearing each other apart.

Prudence ran in Sadie's direction, now terrified for her friend, more than herself.

Sadie was lying on the ground, on a blanket that Lucy had brought along. Her head was propped up on Lucy's jacket. The pain that she was feeling was immense. She wished she had said something to Lucy sooner, she could have had time to get to the hospital.

 

[KERFUFFLE]

xD I'll try and get some pictures, then. And I'll get some of my room at the same time.

I'm kind of thoroughly amused by my new found use of my whammy bar on my electric guitar =D Barracuda sounds great with it.

Forgetting that he was supposed to be defensive, Brandon kicked Max, hard, to get him off. Asthe wolf fell to the floor, he rushed over and knelt by Sadie on the blanket, placing a hand on her forehead-- she was sweating, and hot, all the more reason for him to keep it there. He forgot completely about everyone else now, as if it were him and Sadie in a wide, open expanse of nothing. "We need to get her to the hospital, and fast," he said.

Lucy sobbed, "It's too late for that! She was trying to keep quiet about the labor pains, she didn't tell me that they had been going on for some time. Apparently she's been like this for a couple of hours."

Sadie gripped Lucy's hand tightly, writhing in pain. "It'll be here soon!" She said, her voice wavering.

Prudence quickly sat near Sadie's legs, ready for anything. Being super old, she'd had experience with almost every occupation. Including midwifery. "Sadie, when you feel like you need to, you push, okay? Brandon, help me, or stay up there and support her."

Mine came with one. I can't push it too far, because it goes out of tune a lot if I do. But I can push it just enough to have a cool effect.

Brandon quickly made an adjustment to that thought, and simply wondered why she hadn't said anything before then. He looked at Prudence, "I'll stay here and keep talking to her." He took Sadie's hand with his other free one. "Okay, baby, I know it hurts but it'll be over soon, alright?" he said, his speech frantic-- he hadn't been prepared for this.

Sadie tried to nod, but all she could do was emit a cry of pain. She gripped both of their hands, her breathing irregular and sharp. She had never been in this amount of pain before, not even the night she nearly died. Beads of sweat formed on her brow, and she had to make sure that she kept up her strength for when the real challenge would come.

The others had stopped fighting, now stricken with worry for the human that they had been trying to protect-- on both sides.

Mikey rushed over, to let Sadie's head rest on his lap. "C'mon Sadie, you can do this. You're bringing a baby into the world."

Brandon winced at the noise. There honestly was nothing worse for him than to see her in pain, particularly when it was this bad. He remembered he had never tried to use the other side of his power around her, but he was considering it if it would help just a little bit.

A shout from behind him-- Blaise. "Brandon, why the hell aren't you numbing it? You know you can."

"Thinking on your feet while your loved one is screaming in pain and your child is about to be born-- try it for yourself sometimes. I'm getting to that."

Sadie tensed up suddenly. She sobbed, using all of her strength to try and get the baby out into the open.

Prudence said, "C'mon Sadie, you have to do better than that!" She knew she sounded mean, but she hoped provoking her would help her try harder.

Mikey kissed his sister's forehead. "Just keep going, you can do this. Keep pushing."

Lucy moved to help out Prudence. "Push!"

Sadie tried to calm herself down, so that she could keep pushing. But she felt like she could hardly breathe.

She likes Pat Beneatar, that's the weird thing. So I don't even know why she got rid of it xDD

Brandon exhaled deeply and closed his eyes, putting a few fingers back to her forehead. "It's okay, baby, keep pushing, I'll try and make it go away.." he said, a bit breathless. It was hard for him to break down those walls he'd built so long ago to stop him for listening to her thoughts, but he did, and he not only heard her mind, he found himself in it-- not as deeply as when they had shared blood, but enough to tell her mind to relax, and to try and numb the pain, even if only slighty.

Sadie kept pushing, helped out immensely by Brandon's power-- although the pain was still completely intense, it did make her relax a bit. She looked up at Brandon gratefully, then shut her eyes quickly.

Prudence gasped, joy lighting her face. "C'mon, only, like, three more. You're doing great!"

Lucy was ready for anything to happen.

"It's nearly here! Only a bit more, c'mon!"

Sadie immediately thought about the fact that soon, the little one that they had been envisioning would soon be here.

Perhaps she did xD This was before I was into that kind of music, though, so I suppose she didn't see much point.

Brandon concentrated harder on helping her get through it, he knew he could numb the pain just a little bit more. He didn't hear her say thank you to him through her speaking, but he heard it from inside of her mind. It's alright, you just concerntrate on those last pushes. Our baby's almost here he told her.

I can see some parent putting huge headphones on their kid, and making them listen to music. and the headphones would be super huge, way bigger than the baby's ears.

Sadie kept pushing, until suddenly, all of the real pain was gone, and there was only a dull throbbing. And then, all she could hear was the sound of a baby crying.

"Congrats, mommy!" Lucy exclaimed joyfully.

Sadie smiled weakly, the blood loss affecting her. "What is it?" She asked quietly.

I needed no brainwashing in the end, so that's the good part of the story xD

Oh, God, how should I know what it is? xDD I kind of see them with a girl more than a boy somehow, but I don't know why. What do you think.

Brandon released himself, and was finally relaxed-- yet ecstatic. Their child was born. He leaned down and kissed Sadie's forehead. "I'm so proud of you," he whispered in her ear. The vampires crowded around excitedly.

Hm... I could see them with either one. I think we'll go with a girl.

Prudence laughed and said, "It's a girl." She got a pair of scissors, cut the cord, and handed the crying infant to Sadie. "She's still messy, but I don't think you really care."

Sadie stared down at the infant, and could feel nothing but love for her. "Oh Brandon..." she breathed. "She's so... beautiful..." She gasped slightly, her blood loss starting to truly get to her. "And now she's really here."

Brandon could barely contain his happiness. He felt like he could cry right now; their child was really here. Sadie was okay, and so was their baby. "She is. Completely gorgeous," he agreed. There was just the tiniest hint of dark hair on her head-- hardly surprising, considering both him and Sadie had the very same colour hair, and vampires didn't carry recessive genes, so it was inevitable. "What are we going to call her?"

Sadie murmured, "I... I don't know... Maybe something like... Calliope... or... or maybe... Cosette... or Faustine... Just something different, and beautiful. I want her to know that... we love her enough to help her be her own person, an individual..."
