"Suit yourself," Brandon shrugged. Still her reaction definitely just gave him another reason to like her more, to think she was different, that she liked him because of who he was, not because of what he had and she didn't abuse it either.

"Hey, wait.." he went after her before she went into the changing room. "D'you need a guitarist? Pianist, maybe?"

Sadie said, "Let's see... pianist, yeah, that'll work." She grinned at him. "I'll let you know which songs I need you in, yeah?" She kissed her cheek, then went to change. When she came out, she had on a tattered, 60s/ 70s t-shirt, and a pair of dark jeans. She looked very vintage, almost like a hippie, with her tendrils of brown hair cascading down her back. In her right hand was a beat up guitar case, with stickers and stamps plastered all over it. She went to the "performance area" which wasn't really much at all. She opened her case, pulling out an acoustic guitar, and sat down on the stool. She let herself warm up, her fingers brushing across the frets easily, testing each sound.

"Okay, then," Brandon smiled at her and returned the kiss before going into the area aswell and sitting at the piano, putting the lid down over the keys so that he could rest his arms on it as he watched her eagerly. He remembered now that she'd said to him how she dreamed of being a musician. Something about her just told him that she was going to be good at this.

Sadie tapped the microphone, testing it out. "Hey everyone, our original scheduled entertainment blew us off."

There was shouting and angry groans from the crowd inside.

"Don't worry, there will be entertainment tonight." Then she started playing, an acoustic version of one of her favorite songs. And then she started singing, changing words in the appropriate spots. She took it in a different key, and slower, than the original song.

"Oh yeah, I'll tell you something,

I think you'll understand.

When I'll say that something

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand.

Oh please, say to me

That you will be my man

And please, say to me

You'll let me hold your hand.

Now let me hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand.

And when I touch you I feel happy inside.

It's such a feeling that my love

I can't hide, I can't hide, I can't hide.

Yeah, you've got that something,

I think you'll understand.

When I'll say that something

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand.

And when I touch you I feel happy inside.

It's such a feeling that my love

I can't hide, I can't hide, I can't hide.

Yeh, you've got that something,

I think you'll understand.

When I'll feel that something

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand,

I want to hold your hand."

At one point, she had winked at Brandon, letting him know that he could start playing.

Brandon managed to lift the lid again without making a sound- something only a vampire could do..- and started to play. He played without really looking at the keys- he was too busy watching her. It was lucky he'd had so many years of practise that he could play his eyes closed. He was on the point of grinning, he thought she sounded beautiful.

Sadie's voice wasn't a voice you'd hear on the radio everyday, that bubble gum, lovey dovey, pop-star voice. No, her voice was edgy, emotional, with more of a gritty feel, but not overly done. It wasn't something one heard very often. And she had a good stage presence, as if the song were her own work, her story. She could convey the emotions, like an actress.

Brandon couldn't help but think about her parents.. How could they seriously tell her not to go for a career in music when she was clearly so talented? Her voice was different, and he loved it. Every face in the bar was fixated on her, pulled in by her voice and the emotion behind it.

Sadie played the last chord, finishing the song. She took a deep breath, smiling as she heard people applaud. "thanks," she said into the microphone, then leaning down to grab her bottle of water. She sipped from it, trying not to damage her voice, so she left the water at room temperature.

Sadie smiled, her face alight. She mouthed, 'Thanks,' in response. She was glad that he liked her performance. She cared about his opinion more than those of other people. Performing was one of the only joys left in her life, honestly. It was one thing she wanted to hold on to.

Brandon just smiled at that, and went to playing random improvisations on the piano to keep the music going again. He was think about her the whole time, her obvious love for performing and how talented she was. He just couldn't get over it as much as he tried.

Sadie warmed up a little bit on her guitar, this time trying to see if her fingers could move up and down the frets quickly. Finding it satisfactory, she started playing, "Benny and the jets."

Ahh, reminds me of 27 Dresses when they start singing in the bar together xD

He stopped playing as soon as she began testing out her guitar, able to think of an ending to his improvised work with ease. He then looked up again at her when she started to play.

Sadie looked at Brandon, nodding, letting him know that he could play right off the bat. She sang along easily, grinning.

Sadie kept playing, nodding with the rhythm. She liked to play older music, rather than a lot of the newer music from today. The newer music didn't seem to have the soul, the emotion, that music from previous decades showed.

Brandon would agree with her. Songs that came out today never seemed like they were material to be classics that could last for generations. He'd lived to see so many amazing bands and release songs that were still famous today.

After playing a wide variety of songs, and receiving lots of tip money, Sadie's boss looked up at her and nodded. Her shift was up.

Sadie said into the microphone, "Thanks for the tips guys, and thanks for staying to watch our performance. Come back next week to hear the band, 'Toccata and Fuze,' with their new front man, Jace Rivers." She started getting things taken down, humming quietly. She put away her guitar-- although it hadn't been hers to begin with. She sighed, remembering who had owned it last. Probably one of the only people who had supported her dreams, and she had no idea now if that person were even alive or not.

Brandon clapped her with the rest of the audience when she was done, closing the lid over the keys again and kissed her cheek as he went to help her pack up whatever stuff she needed, "You were great, babe," he said with a smile, "Better than great, actually. Fantastic."

"Thanks," she said, slapping his rear. "You were awesome yourself." She looked around, making sure everything was in order. "Well, it looks like we're all set!" She yelled to her boss, then took Brandon's hand and went outside, her guitar and duffel bag safely on her other arm. She walked back into the city, humming. "Yeah, my apartment's kinda big, but it's not the best thing ever. I've been planning on redecorating, but... ah well."
