He wouldn't like me, though. Ahh well, there are other fishes in the sea xD

If you didn't love it, then I'd have a lot of questions to ask you :3

"Take your time, I've got a while," Brandon grinned as he watched her, loving how energteic she seemed to be, looking like a beautiful free spirit.

lol, Disney rules.

When I went to Central Park, I wanted to sing one of the songs from Enchanted.

Sadie pulled her tendrils of curly hair back into a ponytail, grinning at him. "Well, that's most certainly true."

Disney is the best! Like I said, if I get to work there, I'll try to get you a Disney Princess role :3

Brandon's grin softened into a small smile, he looked thoughtful, earnest. He wondered how many years he'd been a vampire, for no real reason. By his count, it was coming up around two and a half centuries. 250 years being nineteen, with noone until now.

Sadie said, "So, what year were you born in? Literally, I mean." She stopped so the she could catch his hand in hers and walk beside him.

"I believe it was 1743," Brandon replied. He'd lived more years than most of the vampires in his family. It was often quite amusing to talk about years before his adopted mother was even born, despite her being older physically.

"Ah, I see." Sadie said, wrapping her arm around him gently, still walking. "So, where's your hometown, then? Somewhere in America, or somewhere abroad?" She was fascinated by him, and wanted to learn everything about him.

Brandon wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Just outside London, in England.. My accent is sometimes more obvious than at other times. Living here for so long has had that effect on me," he chuckled.

"When did you come to this country, then?" She asked, resting her head on him. She strolled down the street, in no hurry to get back to the bar. Besides, walking took longer than jumping from roof to roof. She was glad about that, because now she could share more time with him.

"I felt like I'd seen all there is to see in England.. And it was at a time where I needed to start in a new place so that people didn't realise that I never got any older. So I thought, why not?" Brandon said. "And I'm glad for it, there are people I wouldn't have met if I hadn't come here. My adopted family- though, that's gone down the drain now-, and, of course, you." He didn't have the same reasons for going back to the bar now. When he'd arrived, he just wanted to drink until he couldn't think straight about anything. Now he wasn't in any hurry to go back, just the same as her, wanting just to be with her for as long as he could.

Sadie smiled slightly when he mentioned her. It felt nice, to know that you could make someone feel... fulfilled, if that was the right word for it. "Have you moved around a lot?" She asked, moving her hand so she could rub his back. She had always wondered what people could do with infinite amounts of time.

Brandon thought about a number of the different places he'd lived over time. "Yes. Particularly when I was on my own and I had to work a lot, I had to move quite a bit. Not only because I wasn't technically getting any older but because I didn't want to get too close to anyone or I didn't want to stick around long enough in case someone worked out what I was for another reason.." He'd lived pretty much all over England, he explained, and a few places in the US. "Living here, though, it's not as important. People here obviously know of our existance and I have enough money to last me for at least seventy years without any income." He paused, then smiled as he said, "I'm glad that you seem to take interest in me rather than see me as some kind of horrible monster, which is really what I am.."

Sadie said, "Brandon, listen to me. There are tons of people who aren't vampires, who are real monsters. They drink, beat their kids, their significant others, they kill without a thought, they try to destroy everything that's good in this world. They pull people into vice, into slavery, they kill masses of people all at once, just based on their race or ethnic group. No, Brandon, you aren't a monster."

"I've done things that make me a monster- I've killed people, too," Brandon said. "And what I'm doing now.. It isn't fair to you at all. I could lose control at any moment.." He cut off, closing his eyes to keep himself from the thought. "And what happens if we get so close you'll always want to be with me, but every second you'll get older and I'll be forever nineteen. I'll hurt you in ways you can't even begin to imagine." He stopped walking, looking furious with himself that he'd allowed this to happen.

Sadie said, "Brandon... it's all a risk I'm willing to take. I've never been... happy before... until tonight. I want to experience something real, something that I WANT to remember, that I WANT to cherish... even if it can only last a short while."

Thinking more selfishly, he also though about how he'd be able to keep going if they had to leave each other.. Forever would be a lonely place after that. "I wish that I could have the strength to change you, if it was ever what you wanted.. But I could never do that to anyone." He looked down at her, "But if you're happy being this way for now, then I'll stay with you until you don't want me anymore. I want to make you happy more than anything."

Sadie looked up at him, too. "Brandon... let's not worry about tomorrow. Let's focus on the here and now. I mean, there are so many what-ifs, and you'll never really know the answers." She entwined her fingers with his now, and sighed when the bar was in sight.

Brandon nodded, "You're right.." he squeezed her hand gently, "we have each other now and I'm so, so grateful for that." When he saw the bar and heard her sigh, he kissed her hair, "Hey, one more shift and we'll be outta here for today," he smiled, his mood lightening already. "And you're boss won't give you hell, I'll make sure of that."

Sadie said, "Yeah, I guess. I really am getting fed up with my job, though." Luckily for her, she only had to work about two and a half hours more, and then she could go home. Plus, Brandon would be going home with her. She smiled slightly, happy that she'd have some company.

"We could find you something else," Brandon said. "Or, as long as you don't object, I'd be happy to use the money I've rarely spent on anything. I told you that I have enough that neither of us would have to work."

Sadie said, "That's generous of you, but I gotta pay my own way. I'm not going to abuse your kindness. Besides, I don't want to create suspicion about how my boyfriend has enough money-- without a source of income-- to keep us living comfortably. Don't worry about it." She went back inside, looking around with suspicion. To her boss, she said, "here's the band that was going to play tonight?"

The boss said, "Well, they bailed. They called and said that they decided to take a better paying gig. So now, we have a bunch of unhappy customers. You know what to do." He went behind the bar, taking her post for the next couple of hours.

Sadie smiled. Wasn't she the lucky one tonight? She said to Brandon, "Well, I guess I won't be serving drinks the rest of my shift." She went to the back room, to change into something more appropriate for singing.
