Mikey nodded and went to work, glad that his eyes didn't tear up because of the onions anymore. As he chopped mercilessly at the onion, he whistled the Haleluyah chorus loudly, a cheerful expression on his face. He was glad that he could be of any help to Angie; he didn't much like sitting around like a bump on a log. Besides, chopping things was actually fun, and relatively easy, too.

Prudence beamed at him and said, "Can I stay with you all the time? Would that be okay with you?" She playfully leaned forward and nipped on Evander's lower lip, smiling cheekily at him. "If you say no... well, that would result in a decrease in kissing from me. And more than that, too."

Sadie nodded at Brandon, then smiled as he took Ysi up to her room. He was great with children, he always had been amazing with Ysi. And now, he was just as good with his own little one, Cosette. Sadie moved to the rocking chair in the living room, rocking back and forth gently, so as not to disturb Cosette.

Angie smiled as she listened to him whistling happily. He was always so cheerful, opdimisic that he never failed to make her smile. She prepared several things to go in her Spanish Tapas, a method she had learned from her father a long time ago. She occasionally glanced sideways at Mikey, trying not to stare too much because of his shirtless state.

"If that's what you really want-- I know you said you like to go to different places. But if you really do know it's what you want, then nothing would please me more," Evander replied, smiling softly. He chuckled a bit as she became a bit more playful and said, "As if I needed that kind of incentive. Still, it is a good reason to keep you locked up in here with me."

Brandon stayed with Ysi until he was sure she was fast asleep, smiling at all of her drawings on her wall. There were so many of him, he couldn't help but smile. He was her father figure now, and he thought of how much her real father, whoever he was, was missing out on. He had a beautiful daughter, and yet he had no real idea of it. He gently kissed her forehead and then made his way back downstairs.

Mikey beamed at her, then went back to his very important job, which was completely essential to dinner. Okay, maybe it wasn't the most important task, but still. It was probably all he would be capable of doing. Once he had finished, he put the chopped onions aside and said, "Okay, is there anything else I should do now?"

Prudence said, "It is what I want, so I will gladly stay with you for as long as you want me to!" She cuddled closer to him, giving him kisses all over his face and neck, laughing lightly. "There. Is that incentive enough?"

Sadie smiled as Brandon came downstairs, then told him, "You know, Ysi's father made a terrible mistake-- she's so precious and amazing. Truly a beautiful child."

Angie said to him, "Yes, you can just hold me from behind and serenade me while I finish it all off." She giggled and said thanks to him for the vegetables, and put everything together, having already completed the skilled parts of the dish. Basically, it just all needed frying off together with some herbs and a sauce and it would be done.

Evander had to laugh as she kissed him all over, it being a strange but enjoyable sensation. "That is easily incentive enough, on top of all else. Just the fact that I love you is enough for me." He stood up, wrapping his arms under her legs to keep her exactly as she was, lifting her with ease, and then kissed her gently but passionately for a moment. "I'm so happy, you know."

Brandon nodded in agreement and said, "He really is missing out on so much. Perhaps the good outweighs his wrong, though. If she had stayed with him, life for her would have been a lot harder. He was heavily dependant on alcohol and drugs. Still, it is sad. But, at the same time, I had the daughter I nevee thought I could have-- of course, I'd never met you then. And that's selfish, but she was what kept me going."

I'm off t' bed! G'night!

Love you! <3

Mikey came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, trying to think of what he should sing to her. Naturally, he was just as good at singing as Sadie was, but his tone was much different. Her's was a pure, clean tone, darker sounding, while his was a bit more raspy, deeper. He sang softly in her ear, crooning, if you will. "I'm singing in the rain," he sang, "Just singing in the rain..."

Prudence couldn't help grinning and kissing him back when the time came, wrapping her arms around him tightly and keeping him close. "I'm glad that I'm the one who makes you happy. It's nice, knowing that your misery is over, your sadness has faded."

Sadie nodded mutely, then rested Cosette on her shoulder, patting her back and speaking to her softly. Cosette enjoyed the attention, then smiled up at her father, looking more and more like Sadie with each day. She cooed loudly, drool dribbling down her chin, a sure sign she was in a good mood.

Angie pressed her back against him and listened while she continued to cook, smiling widely to herself. She loved it when he sang, but this particularly because it was so intimate. She almost wished the food would take twice as long to be finished so that she could listen for twice as long. She turned the stove off when it was done and then turned to give him a passionate kiss on the lips before plating it all up. She set the food on the table and said, "Well, I hope you like it."

"It's been so long since I've felt happy at all. And now you've must come crashing into my life and made everything wonderful," Evander said to her, smiling tenderly. "You really have no idea how much you have changed me and my whole life."

Brandon smiled back at his beautiful daughter and gently kissed her forehead. She cooed happily and her hazel eyes were bright with total content. "I wonder how he brought himself to part with her. Just the very thought of doing the same with Cosette puts a pain in my chest."

Mikey said, "Believe me, you'll know if I don't like it, Angie. I'm very verbal about the food I eat!" He laughed, then went and pulled out a chair fro Angie. Once she was seated, he went to the fridge and asked, "Is there anything you'd like to drink? There's some soda in here... juice... or there's water." He poked his head out of the kitchen and looked at her.

Prudence said, "Well, I definitely can see the outer signs of it. You're much more cheerful now, you smile more. Your eyes have a light in them I never saw when you were with your ex wife. And the way you talk sounds... hopeful now. You know what I mean?" She ran her fingers through his hair.

Cosette reached out her arms, so Sadie put Cosette in Brandon's arms, smiling gently. "I know. I'm so glad that you stayed with me, and didn't just run off, or kick me out. That would have broken my heart, and... Well, I think every child needs a father and mother."

"Well then I really hope you enjoy it," Angie chuckled, thanking him for pulling out her chair as she sat down. She looked thoughtful for a moment bedfore she said, "I'll just have some soda, thank you, love."

Evander leaned his forehead against hers and looked into her eyes. "I know exactly what you mean. And it's the most wonderful thing in the world. I have no idea how I would ever be able to repay you for what you've done for me."

Brandon held Cosette closely to his chest, and she reached up to touch his jaw, apparently fascinated by the prickly feel of his little bit of stubble.

"You know I would never do that to you, Sadie. I've always been in love with you."

Mikey poured a glass of soda for Angie, and then he poured a glass of water for himself. He brought both over to the table, then sat down, smiling at Angie adoringly. "I'm glad we're married, so we don't have to live in different places. I like seeing you each morning and each night. You know?"

Prudence gazed steadily into his eyes, smiling slightly as she did so. "You know, you have lovely eyes. In fact, I think you have the most handsome face I've ever seen on a man. And that's saying something, because I've met a lot of men." She kissed along his jawline lightly. "You don't have to ever repay me. Just knowing that you love me makes me happy."

Sadie giggled as she watched Cosette, and then she looked up at Brandon and smiled fully. "Always, huh? Well, I think I like knowing that. It makes me feel special." She placed her hand on his shoulder, rubbing it gently. "I've always been in love with you too, you know."

"I know. Just the thought of going home after that first night I spent with you was almost too much to contemplate," Angie agreed, taking a sip of her soda, which she then thanked him for. She then picked up her cutlery and took a first taste of the food, and then waited for Mikey's all-important verdict.

Evander shook his head a bit and said, "You're around men like Mikey and Brandon every day, that can't be possible that I'm the most gorgeous man you've ever met." He still smiled at her compliment and gazed at her a bit. "I think you're very beautiful. Maybe I've just had enough of girls from around here after the last relationship, but I think you're far more beautiful than any woman from the west-- as well as in the rest world, of course. Why did you move from Asia, exactly?"

Brandon wrapped his free arm around her waist and said, "I knew that already, but I love to hear you say it." He smiled fondly and ssid, "I still remember that first night as clear as day."

Mikey grinned at her and said, "Of course it was! I mean, come on, I rocked your world-- just as you rocked mine, of course!" He laughed, then let out a deep breath. "All right... here goes... it's down to this executive decision..." He took his fork and took the biteful into his mouth. He chewed it slowly, then sat for a few seconds, immobilized. Jumping to his feet he exclaimed, "This is delicious!"

Prudence rolled her eyes and said, "Evander, Brandon looks like he's nineteen, and Mikey isn't that good looking to me. Seriously. And Brandon is a nice looking guy, but he's too childish for me. You, on the other hand, are a man. Tall dark and handsome is my type, thank you very much. And you fit it perfectly." She had to think before she answered his next question, mulling it over carefully. "Well, my mother was Asian, my father was an Italian trader. He met my mother, they fell in love, all of that. I got changed, and at that time I was living on the borders of China and Russia. After I was changed, nobody wanted to be around me. So I moved westward, to Europe. I arrived there, and I had my father's money, because I was the only child. I started a cloth and tailoring business, because my mother taught me to make clothes. From then on, I was set. Nobody could match my expertise."

Sadie nodded and smiled back at him just as fondly. "I was just a bar girl, nothing to shout about. And you stepped in when I was having the roughest night of my life, and from there, things changed for the better."

Angie said, "That night could have ended in so many ways. And though at first in hindsight I would have never allowed you to be attacked and therefore changed. But now the only thing I regret is how much they hurt you. Because I'd never change anything else about our time together." She had, in the hugely dramatic build up to the verdict, waited with bated breath. Okay, so that's an exaggeration but she was still anxious to know what he though. She giggled when he jumped up and said, "What can I say? You're an expert vegetable chopper."

"Prudence, you and I both know Brandon looks a lot older and more mature than nineteen. More like twenty five a lot of the time," Evander said. Not in a bad way, of course, did Brandon look older. In fact, it was good that neither he or Sadie seemed their physical age. He then continued and said, "But thank you. I could only hope I could be considered your type." He was honestly flattered that she thought him so attractive. He listened to her story with great interest, he really wanted to know so much more about her. "I see. And did you like Europe better, or would you rather have stayed in Asia if you could have?"

"I couldn't bear the sense of unhappiness you were letting out. I had been going through a rough time in my life, too, and I hated to see another person suffer like I had," Brandon said. "I vowed that somehow I would make you happier. I thought you were beautiful, but falling in love with you hadn't been my initial plan."

Mikey said, "In the end, I'm glad it all happened. I'm glad Sadie and Brandon met; we wouldn't have met if they weren't together. I'm glad for everything that has happened to all of us, because all those things have made us who we are today."

Prudence said, "He looks twenty two at most, Evander, and that's the truth. Besides, he's got that boyish charm thing going on, and so does Mikey. You're much more than that. You're wise, and you've got a little more age in your face. Not like wrinkles or anything, just maturity." She kissed his cheek softly. "Well, honestly, I think I like eastern Europe the best. It's so mystical, and the cultures are so diverse!"

Sadie smiled slightly at him, then gave him a kiss, gentle but passionate. "I know. And you were mad at yourself for getting involved with me. But... I'm glad you stayed."

"We would have met at some point in our lives-- soulmates always meet each other at least once in their lifetime. But we probably would have handled things completely differently and would have just left each other and forgotten, seen it as insignificant. That's what usually happens. And that's the problem with being a vampire. What if you already met your soulmate seventy years ago and now they're either old and decrepid or gone? Then you spend the rest of eternity without a soulmate." Angie smiled, "We were just the lucky ones. And thank godness for that, too."

Evander would agree that he seemed a lot older than Brandon. Well, he was of course, but in the sense of how he acted, the air of quiet wisdom surrounding him. "I went to Romania once, as a matter of fact. I have to agree with you, it is wonderful in that part of the world. Everything from the buildings and the decor to the people."

"I never thought that it could work between you and I, in the long term. I was so afraid of hurting you, of all the things that could go wrong. And most of all I was afraid that the limits on being with a vampire had would frustrate you," Brandon said. "But I stayed because I couldn't bear to tear myself away. And I'm glad I never did."

Mikey said, "Well, I don't even want to think about that. Because we have each other, soulmates, and we're going to be together forever and always! Just like we've always hoped for!!" He beamed at her, then went back to eating, his hunger getting the best of him in the end. He sighed with contentment, glad that Angie could cook really well.

Prudence nodded and said, "It's really fascinating, honestly." But then she buried her face in his neck, kissing his sensitive spot roughly, pushing him against the back of the chair.

Sadie smiled lovingly at him and said, "I'm glad too. Because then Cosette wouldn't be here, and a world without Cosette would be a strange place indeed." Cosette squeaked up at her parents, smiling widely.

"We certainly are.. There's so much you and I can do together because we don't have to worry abput time eating away our lives.." Angie mused, eating some more of her food. "I can't wait for all the wonderful things you and I will get to share."

Evander gasped a bit, both from the sensation and from surprise at her sudden movement. That was shortly followed by a quiet groan that he was unable to surpress. He tilted his head back, exposing his neck a bit more for her.

"My world without either of you in it would be unfathomable. Unlivable. Impossible," Brandon said softly. "I was always skeptical about whether somebody could really feel so strongly about another person. And yet it one night you had gotten me to love you more than I've ever loved anyone or anything."

Mikey said, "I promise you, the wonderful things will definitely outweigh any of the hardships we'll have to go through. And if you don't think I'm doing a good job at keeping my promise, I give you permission to tell me so." He smiled slightly at her, then went back to eating dinner, his manner becoming somewhat solemn.

Prudence sunk her fangs into his neck, then drained his blood slightly. It definitely tasted better to her than human blood did, although she knew that it really wasn't the same as human blood. Oh well. She pulled her lips away from his neck, watching a small trickle of blood flow down and stain his shirt.

Sadie beamed at him, reaching up to rub his shoulder gently, looking at him with total love. "I'm glad I could change your point of view. You definitely changed mine. I remember how I didn't really believe in the whole soul mate thing, and now... well, now I can't see my life any other way."

"I will never have to tell you that you're not making my life wonderful enough, Mikey. That's my promise to you. I've never been happier than I am right now."

Evander felt the cool liquid-- his blood-- dribble down the skin of his neck, reaching his chest, where his shirt had begun to soak it up. Nobody had taken his blood in many, many years. His love with his wife had lead to be not passionate enough for that a long time ago. He'd forgotten how much he liked the intimate gesture. He groaned and buried his face in her neck, letting her take the lead.

"And I'm glad I changed your mind on that, too. I like to know you think I was meant for you, and what happened to me centuries ago was for a reason," Brandon said. He took her hand in his and said, "And now, it's not long until I.. Will take you in my arms and give you your eternal life with me. Less than a few weeks now.."

Mikey said, "We'll be like any other couple, of course. But... we're soul mates, which means way more than just being together. I'm just so scared... what if things turn out like they did with Katherine and Evander?"

Prudence kissed the blood off of his neck, letting it stain her lips a deep red color. She planted red kiss marks along his jawline, then kissed his hair, exposing her neck to him. "Drink," she whispered softly, moving her lips to his ear. "You have my permission."

Sadie said, "It's actually less than two weeks away, Brandon. Time flies, huh?" She gave his hand a gentle squeeze, then smiled at Cosette, who was now sleeping peacefully on Brandon's chest. "I see so much of you in her, you know. It's not easily seen, but... the expressions she makes sometimes, I just say, 'That's Brandon.' I'll need to show you some of the pictures from when I was a baby."

Angie went quiet for a moment, pushing her food around her plate a bit. "The way I see it, Evander and Katherine were not soulmates. I've known for a long time who his soulmate really is, and it frustrated me that they couldn't be together for so long." She paused before she carried on, looking up at him, right into his eyes, "I can't see my soul mate the way I can with others, but there must be some way of knowing. I feel the most amazing thing whenever I see you.." She paused again, still holding his gaze. "But you and I will never turn out like Evander and Katherine. I would never do what she did to him to you. Ever."

Evander moaned quietly as she had continued to kiss him, passing the sensitive spots on his neck, and she knew it. He lowered is lips to her neck, and he slowly sunk his fangs into her skin, beginning to draw blood. Sweet, irresistible, he loved that moment holding onto it, the smell, the taste, his connection with her. He took a drawn out sip before pulling back, running his tongue over the spot until the puncture ran dry.

"Too fast sometimes, yes, it does," Brandon agreed with a gentle sigh. He smiled as he watched their sleeping child. "I see it, too. It's not so easy to distinguish the way it is in the ways she looks like you. But there are little things I see and I really know she is me as much as you."

Well, I'm off. Good night!

Love you <3
