When Eli heard Mei behind him he was startled. he rammed the list back into the middle of the pile somewhere. "Nothing." He told her. He rolled his eyes at her comments about screwing up. He had a feeling that even a blackout wouldn't stop half of those men in there from demanding extra things. Eli kissed her back softly. " You're going to ruin your makeup. " he warned, he then held her out a bit and leaned back so she was at about arms length. He glanced her up and down, " So what are you 'sposta be anyway?" when she mentioned that night he made a slight face, he was happy she was excited but he wasn't too keen on it yet. " I'm not so sure about this whole thing..." he told her placing his arm around her waist.

Meimei rolled her eyes and said, "That bad, huh? It figures." She sighed when he mentioned her makeup. "Hey, we're supposed to embody sexiness. I'm just making it look more... realistic." She laughed quietly, "I think we're supposed to be like jailhouse girls or something. Crossed with vaudeville. It's not nearly as nice as my other costume. It shows less... everything, thank goodness." She noticed the face he made and sighed. "Not sure about what? About being seen with me? About setting up Bri with... that guy? I've already told you I don't do things with guys, and it's very obvious they like each other. Things will work out."

Eli smirked a bit at her explanation of he'd costume. He nodded like he understood. At her comment about the showing less. " You know, I could always fix that..." he teased toying with the collar of her outfit between a few fingers.

He barely held back his laughter when she asked about his not being sure of tonight. " Mmm, yes. That's totally it. I would really hate to be seen with a hot girl. I mean that would be just... Ugh. " he made a mock displeased face as if the thought of doing so disgusted him. " I know they do," He agreed. "I just don't see why I really need to come. I think it would probably work out better if I didn't and you just handled it all. "

"But then I would be the third wheel, and they could easily turn on me and devour me like sharks. Besides, I would feel creepy just watching tow other people on a date," Meimei explained, laughing and ruffling his hair. She smirked when he toyed with the collar, giving him a few kisses up and down his jawline. "Plus... I'd like to spend time with you after the show, not some creepy old pervert. And I don't want to be alone tonight."

Eli rolled his eyes at her. He was completely sure that her best friend would devour her like a shark. "Your logic amazes me." He sighed "Fine." He agreed figuring he had no real way of getting himself out of this one. He shook his head slightly at her, "Shouldn't you be getting ready or something productive?" He questioned her. "I mean don't you have a big show or something tonight?"

"I'm ready, I'm ready. Besides, they'll give us a signal when we have to go onstage," she told him, smirking. She kissed him again, then pulled herself off of his lap, adjusting her costume afterwards. But then she went back to him and sat on his lap again, kissing him passionately and holding his face in her hands. She wanted him to want her, just like she wanted him. Plus, she found herself preferring these small moments to being onstage in front of a crowd who was mentally undressing her.

Eli returned her kiss. His arm around her waist tightened and his other went around to the side of her head. He kissed her deeply. He enjoyed these moments, the heat between them and the way the touched. He held her close almost like he was afraid she might slip away. Their lips only parted for a moment to catch a quick breath. He felt himself almost smilin into the kiss.

Meimei couldn't help smiling into the kiss, wrapping her arms around him tightly. She wished they could be alone for a couple of hours, seeing as they had been working non stop since their last date. With the show coming up, nobody had any free time at all. Especially the crew, with all the work they had to do. She mumbled against his lips, "Tonight, we're having a sleepover."

Eli pulled back a bit. He leaned himself against the back of the chair and smiled a bit at her. "Hmmmm," He mused. "we are are we?" He had been so busy this past few days that he hadn't really thought much about ther date night tonight. When she had told him about it his mind was dipping elsewhere and so he had simply agreed without actually giving it much thought. From what he had heard and seen on television and in movies any dates that include the girl's best friend generally were scary for the poor sap who got stuck going on it, equally if not more painful than meeting the parents. It generally involved serious grilling and embarassing stpries and whatnot.

"Yes. Maybe we can take it to my place? It's perfect for a party of two, you know," she murmured, chuckling slightly. "Besides, we haven't had much alone time since we went to the oriental restaurant. You deserve it, after going along with my plans for the double date. I know you really aren't too keen on it, but it means a lot to me." She smiled and touched his shoulder gently. "I really like you a lot, you know."

"Mmm sounds nice. " Eli said softly. " You can say that again, it's more nervous actually. " Eli told her "I'm not exactly a crowd pleaser. And I've never really had to do this whole meet the friends thing before. I know it does, that's why I'm doing it." He told her. " Is that so?" he asked her.

"Who cares if you're a crowd pleaser. I like you the way you are, honestly. I mean, come on, I'm nuts about you! I think you're amazingly handsome, so interesting, and really cool. And I'm sure that the others will like you too. And if they don't, it's their fault."

" Oh shush. " Eli tol her. He was never use to compliments so hearing them made him feel awkward and he never really knew what to say. He leaned in again for a second and pressed his lips to hers for a moment.

Meimei giggled and kissed him gently, then pulled back to smile at him. "I swear, you're probably the best kisser I know. I love it!" She moved so her back was against his chest, and put his arms around her waist. "If I had my way, I would never ever let you go."

Eli grinned. " That sounds like a pretty goo idea to me. " he agreed. " You're not so bad yourself." he added in response to her previous comment. Eli exhaled deeply making a noise almost resembled a sigh.

"What are you thinking about," she asked softly, tilting her head to try and look up at him. Unable to crane her neck far enough, she went back to cuddling into him, closing her eyes and sighing softly herself. "Is everything okay?"

Eli shrugge a bit. " Nothing, yeah it's fine. I'm just tired is all..." he adjusted his arms around her so it went around her back and his hand was on her side. He pressed his lips to the top of her forehead. He inhaled her scent, smelling the mix of shampoo and perfume.

Meimei sighed with happiness, turning so she could kiss Eli's jawline. "I'm so happy you noticed me, and took the time to get to know me. Honestly, I thought you hated me for the longest time. I would try to talk to you, and you would just walk away."

Eli blushed. "I'm not exactly a people person... As I'm sure you have noticed..." He explained "I always seem to say something that comes out wrong or ends up upseting someone." He shrugged. He often did seem like he didn't care and sometimes it was because he truly doesn't but others it's simply a wall to keep others out. "And besides," He said "I didn't really want to start up a fling with someone at work that doesn't last 'cuz then it ends up awkward..." He trailed off and then made a face sensing that that had probably sounded a lot worse than he had originally intended it to.

"Well... I don't care if you're not a social king. In fact, that makes me like you even more," Mei said softly, turning so she was facing him fully. "Do... do you want this to last?" She honestly wanted more than a fling from him, a real relationship, but she wasn't going to pressure him into it. A relationship based on pressure and lies wouldn't be a relationship at all. And she understood everything he had just said, to a tee.
