"I'll be fine," she told him, smiling. "Really, I'm not in any pain or anything. Trust me. Besides, if something should happen, you know where to go." She knew she was taking this lightly, but she really didn't feel like it was too big of a problem.

~~~
Jade started climbing uphill, towards the bigger temples and ruins. Sweat began to drip down her brow, either from nerves or strenuous activity. She could feel what she was searching for, right there, it was so close. She took another breath, trying to take in everything around her. For now, this would be the last time she came here. Maybe, when the world was at peace, she would be able to return.
Parade, in what seemed to be a fluid movement, raised her arms and became a wolf in Anjas hands, squirming playfully. Here, too, she resembled her father- her sleek black fur was accented by gray only around the collar and around her face, with sliver racing down her back and tipping her tail.
Anja smiled, "my do you look like daddy." She set the puppy down, petting her.
Alli looked a little worried though, but he remained silent.
Aviance closed her eyes for a minute, then started walking after she had opened them. "C'mon Alli! Let's go see Sora!" She called. She was now back in her suaul good spirits.... but something seemed a bit off. It wasn't anything physical. Rather, it was that she didn't seem all the way there. She almost seemed a bit loopy, in a way.
~~~

Jade was now looking through the oldest temples, the ones that had been wrecked the most. There was a secret clearing around... somewhere.... She kept crawling around, looking for any way in. This has to work... it has to!

Parade curled up against her, licking her hand and sticking her paw up in the air, a mention that she wanted to be pet. She was the only one of the three children awake at the moment, so she was possibly lonely.

Croy sighed, laying out in the trees, his body covered in the mist that bathed the forest this morning. His mind dwelled on his Jade... but he didnt let it show.

Aviance seemed to sigh when she talked, as if she was dazed. "Oh, yes, of course. I'm completely fine," she answered dreamily, walking onward. "Come now, don't get too far behind me." She smiled, and started to hum as she walked, an awkward lilt in her step now.

~~~
And then, Jade fell down into the chasm. She couldn't tell if she was falling for seconds or minutes. All she could think about was finding what she had been wanting to find, for so many years. When she hit the ground, she was surprised to find soft, warm grass, and beautiful flowers.
"No no darling, things aren't like that at all. I'm fine, love." She murmured, gently pulling him along to see Sora. "Come now, if we don't hurry, they mightn't be able to talk to us." She gave his hand a soft squeeze, then started humming once more.
~~~~

Jade got to her feet, and walked forward. This area was a circle of sunlight. Around it, was pitch blackness. There were no sounds, not even Jade's footsteps made a sound. She kept walking forward, and then saw the beautiful crystal crypt. And there was her mother, her head which had once been removed sewn neatly back onto her neck. Gently, Jade opened the lid, and her nostrils were filled with the scent of perfume. Her mother's body hadn't decayed. In fact, it merely looked as if she was sleeping.

She let out a yip, and began to roll around at Anjas request, her tail wagging furiously.

Croy, having succumbed to worry, had followed her scent, beautiful and familiar as it was- he was worried, and somewhat nervous about Jades condition (Thought he would never admit to being scared, he was sure that if anyone with a nose like his were around, they would be able to smell the fear-scent on him)

Jade gently pulled something out of her pocket, and stared at the object in her hand. Her mother's jeweled comb. Gently, the young woman reached out, and placed the comb in her mother's hair, letting the jewels glint in the never ending sunlight. She stroked her mother's cheek lovingly, the tears forming in her eyes. And then she began to speak, in the language of her ancestors. "I miss you. Every day, I have to live with the pain of losing you. It follows me, always. Mother.... you were so kind, and loving, and selfless. I wish you were here, to see me.... and the one whom I've grown to love above all others. Now I see what you meant, about love, and living." And then, she pulled out of her mother's hand, a small piece of paper, with something folded into it, like a note with a secret gift. "Father told me... you had something to share with me." She leaned down, to kiss her mother's forehead. "I love you, mother." And then she drew away, unable to speak through the sobs that wracked her.

~~~
Aviance stumbled forward, now humming drunkenly. And then she started singing in some form of gibberish, not even knowing or caring that what she sang didn't make sense. Definitely, something was wrong. Laughing childishly, she said, "We're close now!!! YOO HOOOOOOO!!!!! SORA!!!!!!!"
Anja held the girl close. "You are my new friend."
Elda smiled, "how adorable."
Alli grabbed her, "Avian, shut up. Pleeeassseeee." His eyes were pleading.
