I get tomorrow off -dances-

The bat looked startled for a second, then seemed to remeber the going ons, and fluttered a bit to turn himself around and look at the wing.

we have no work tomorrow in school.

what do you get off for?

Nathaniel smiled. See I am a bat as well. He even screeched as well.

 

[Rocket Dog]

wait.... you have no work in school tomorrow?

Then why do you go?

I get off because its the end of the 9. We had exams yesterday and today.

Not next week but the week after, I have spring break.

Screech, the little albino vampire bat, curled up in Nathaniels hand. He seemed to understand slightly, but he didnt know why Nathaniel was talking to him.

we only have one class, and then some talk thing.

i don't know.

and thats good.

How would you like to be a bat like me? A vampire? You could speak like me and Tettra, and you wouldn't gave to worry about getting eaten by a bigger animal.

He fluttered his wings in a flurry, and didnt respond. He ended up clinging to his shirt.

Nathaniel stroked him gently, waiting for a response.

Will it hurt?

Not at all Screech. He smiled.

Can I change if I dont like it?

Nathaniel nodded. Yes you can.

Okay. He trusted them.

The bat trailed off again, crawling up further on Nathaniel. He let out a squeak, maybe a yes?

Nathaniel smiled, "okay."

 

[Rocket Dog]

Tettra fluttered off the shoulder of her lover and landed on the table, sliding a bit but getting a pretty good grip after a second. She watched the bat cusiously.

Not now though. Later.

The bat curled up on his shoulder and started to doze then, his frail body shaking with every breath.

Nathaniel stroked Screech, and then looked around for Tettra.

 

[Rocket Dog]

She was on the table, laying down the way that birds do. She was looking at him with deep, bright eyes- ones like that of someone who saw and loved much even if they understood little.
