Lucas turned off the burners on the stove. He left the pot of rice on the still warm stove while he searched around in the cupboards for the plates and bowls. He opened cupboard door after door examining it's contents trying to remember where he had seen them. He moved the pot quickly from it's burner to a cooler one not wanting to over cook it. Behold he looked for the bowls he started to clean up his mess a little bit, placing the knife and cutting board in the sink along with the pan he had used to fry up the stir fry.

Auburn nodded her head in time with the beat of Blaze's song. She was greatly impressed and had to admit he had a lot of talent. "He's good," Sterling whispered to her from his perch beside Auburn as he gripped Charlie's neck. She nodded silently in agreement to her brother, keeping her bright blue eyes glued to Blaze as he continued to play. Suddenly, Auburn grinned as an idea popped into her mind. She sat up straight and took hold of her guitar, placing her fingers onto the frets and waited for just the right moment. As Blaze entered into the chorus of the song, Auburn began to improvise an accompaniment with Blaze and hummed as he sang. Sterling laughed at his sister and followed suit, adding his own style alongside Blaze and Auburn.

Angel was unimpressed by the sudden cutting-off from her tune. She hadn't quite finished it yet, she gripped her keyboard and gave an grumpy frown. She decided to place a few notes, here and there, in time with Blaze's song.

Kaylin spun around to see Cade behind her. "And now you're following people?" she teased. She pulled out her ponytail and let the braid loose. Her hair fell over her shoulders, wavy from being in the braid for so long. "I'm Kaylin." the asian girl grinned. She didn't hold out her hand, just gave a simple grin.

Once Taylor was done unpacking, she headed back towards the room of music. She wasn't much of a singer herself, and she only played sax once or twice, because her father begged her to be musical. It just wasn't where her talent lied. She snuck inside, and sat on one of the beds. She had yet to say a word to anyone, since she had gotten to the house.

Shaula began to be really bored with staring at a blank white ceiling, when she suddenly recognized the song being played down the hall. She began to sing along. "At least it's something to do," she thought to herself.

During the chorus, Blaze noticed that Auburn had joined into his song, and Angel appeared to be playing a few notes on her keyboard as well. Although he felt really embarrassed (as this was the first time he'd performed around people he didn't really know too well), he somehow managed to keep a good grip on the rhythm and notes of the song, up until the very end, when he finished with a flourish. Trying to hide the redness of his face, Blaze got up and went over to the kitchen to go get a huge glass of water. He gulped half of it down.

Cade noticed how she didn't put her hand out, but that was okay- who really did that these days anyway? "Nice to meet you. I'm Cade.." He held out a serious face as he said that, but his expression suddenly changed, and he burst into laughter. "Sorry, I had to do that... I don't really know why."

Auburn's spirits were soaring as the song came to a close. "That was awesome!!" Auburn cried and high fived her brother. She looked to Blaze for his thoughts but noticed that he had scurried away. Auburn cocked her head to the side and stood, gently setting her guitar on the floor where she had sat. She nonchalantly strode into the kitchen and appeared beside Blaze, carefully making her presence known so that she wouldn't startle him. "Why'd you run away?" she asked curiously with a smile. "That was SO good! You have amazing talent." Auburn blew a stray piece of hair out of her face and grinned, her nose stud glittering in the light of the kitchen chandelier.

Shaula ran out into the hall, and began racing towards the other side. She passed everyone, and was about to turn around, but noticed Cade and Kaylin, hit her head on the wall on the other side of the hallway, and fell down with a squeal.

Blaze blushed in embarrassment at Auburn's comment. "I'm not that good.." He said, realizing how weird his voice sounded. "Otherwise, I would already have a recording contract or something like that. I'm not really that talented at all..." Blaze said, trying to resist the urge to dump the cup of water over his head.

Auburn defiantly put her hands on her hips. "Bah don't be ridiculous! You were awesome Blaze!" She put a hand on his shoulder and locked her blue eyes onto Blaze's. "I'm not kidding. You were great," she said sincerely with a warm smile.

Blaze tried to look away, but found it a bit hard not to look at Auburn's blue eyes. "But.. Uh.. Well.. Uh.." Blaze fumbled for something to say. "I guess so, most of the time, the person who plays the music thinks lower of themselves than what others think.." Blaze took a quick sip of his water before setting the cup back on the counter. "You and Sterling were way better than me..."

Steem quietly walked away to retrieve his soundboard deciding it wa time for him to make a little noise, once he picked it up from the table in his room he returned to them holding it tightly and staying silent "..."

"This is a hard one," said Angel, taking a little grin before setting her fingers on the starting notes, then her fingers went crazy playing

//www.tamatalk.com/IB/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png Angel's grin faded into a serious face, her fingers were almost unseen, her notes sounded wonderful, and she loved the tune. Angel looked up at an easy part and smiled at everybody, before preparing herself to get back into the hard.

Auburn laughed and gave Blaze's shoulder a soft squeeze. "Trust me Blaze. I've seen so many musicians who would need years of practice just to get to your level now. You've got raw talent. And lots of it." She smiled warmly at the shy boy, hoping that stroking his ego would boost his self confidence even in the smallest bit. Blaze was indeed very talented and it bothered Auburn in epic proportions that he thought so lowly of himself. Auburn grinned playfully and pointed a finger at Blaze, giving it a slight wag as she leaned closer to his face from where she stood in front of him. "Now don't go getting a big head mister." She grinned and laughed, placing a hand on the kitchen counter as she leaned against it, and waited eagerly for Blaze to reply.

Blaze fumbled for words in his head, and it took a full ten seconds before he finally found the right words to say. "You're the first person who told me I'm really good.. Besides like two other people back at home. Most people back home think that because I'm really good at football, I should try for the NFL or at least college football.." He smiled at her. "Thanks."

"You're very welcome!" Auburn looked at Blaze, examining his body type and making mental notes. She nodded her head and laughed. "You do seem like a football player, with how built you are and everything. But I think you should pursue whatever makes you happy. That's what's really important regardless of talent or skill." Auburn laughed, her nose stud glittering in the light as she shook her hair out of her face.

Sterling sat, softly playing a slow melody on his guitar, content in watching everyone in the room as he played.

Angel growled, everybody continued to disrupt her playing, so she set her keyboard louder and continued to play. She was growling in her mind, softly though. Angel eatched her fingers play the notes.

Blaze began to smile. "I think I'll try. I have my senior year to turn things around. So.." Blaze once again tried to find the right words to say, but found nothing. Finally, he just asked, "Are you and Sterling going to try for a recording contract too?" His right hand grabbed for the cup of water, but when he picked it up and raised it to his lips, he then realized it was already empty. Embarrassed, he turned around, walked over to the sink and put the cup in, and then turned back to Auburn.

Auburn grinned and stifled a giggle. She thought Blaze was terribly cute. "Honestly, we've never thought about chasing after a record deal." Auburn smiled as the memories of late nights up writing and playing with Sterling flooded into her mind. "I mean, we would totally go for it if we were offered one but . . . ," She paused and thought for a moment. "I just don't want to go chasing after one, you know? I wouldn't mind being a street musician. I love music SO much. I don't care where or by what means. I just want to sing and play my guitar. Anywhere I can do that I'm perfectly content," Auburn said cheerfully.
