I respect people who are religious, so long as it's not shoved down my throat.

Not trying to be rude but,

There are those people who try to shove religion down your throats. But you are also shoving somthing down us religious peoples throat. Shoving that there isnt a god at all and we are getting sick of it. We are all entitled to our opinions but mainly the reason we're shoving it down your throat is because you are shoving that there isn't a god down our throats.

What do you call "shoving"? I can see if a person just doesn't get that you would like them to quit telling you but is just telling you "shoving"? I mean, I see all the time:

PersonB: OMG LEVE ME ALONE U SHOVERLER!!

If anyone wants to become closer to God, really all you have to do is pray and ask for forgiveness for your sins, and ask for His help to become closer to Him...

I usually don't go all religion on people unless we are talking about religion, so don't be afraid of me.

Shoving by what im talking about is when they are telling you that you will go to hell if you dont belive and stuff such as what happened to me.

And it goes like this:

them: So do you believe?

Me: No

them: If you dont believe God will send you to hell

Me: Well since he doesnt exsist it dont matter

them: He does exsist so i wont be seeing you in heaven

Me: And i wont be seeing you in hell because it doesnt exsist.

^^ That was a lovely conversation with one of those people ho try to get you to convert

The time my bible in schools teacher asked if we believed in god. Me being the only one not to put up my hand he asked why and i said 'Because he doesnt exsist'

Then given this 'Well then God will send you to hell if you dont believe'

My response 'The idiot cant send me anywhere since he doesnt exsist'

I got kicked out of bible in schools to my relief and have had the most disgusting comments from parents complaining that i used gods name in vain. I was 8 and most kids in my class had gone and told their parents. the moral is, You cant tell people what to believe in its our choice. Shoving it down our throats aint gonna get you brownie points.

Do you celebrate Christmas? Easter? You can't celebrate them anymore because you aren't Christian because those are Christian holidays.

That's just the way I see it.

^^ I dont celebrate them for the ludicris tales they are meant to represent but for my family. Just because you dont believe doesnt mean you can have a holiday or celebration too. Heaps of my best friends are christain but as long as they dont try to make me convert I respect there religion as much as they respect mine so i often spend time with them and their families on these days.

Non belivers can still celebrate Christmas. It's a Pagan Holiday. The Bible isn't true. It's a book of stories written by a human. Which have been rewritten over the years as is. Religio was also created by human man. The whole "god" concept sounds like a whole fable to me.

If someone created a religion to Oscar the Grouch, then others would follow also.

Belive in what you wanna belive in. Don't force others into beliving.

I believe in God, I've had a long discussion about this with my dad and I asked him a whole bunch of questions about religion and Christianity, and he really brought my faith back.

He explained to me that not all of the bible is true because throughout time, since it was written by many different people, they have different beliefs, adding what they think. So eventually the bible was all put together, with all this opinions but with the same general idea. I also asked him about Jesus, and how there is proof if he really was God's son, and my dad said "Well they punished him for saying he was God's son, so don't you think if he was being hung on the cross going through all this pain, just give in and admit he wasn't the son of God. "

It made more sense when my dad explained these things, but yea that's what I believe.
