I dont know If I believe in God and Jesus, But I for sure believe in a higher power.

Im not so sure what to think, But I like to say yes, I do believe in a God, but perhaps not what you mean by it. I am... questioning.

Yeah, isn't God supposed to love all his children? Even if we don't believe, he should still love us and show us the way in death.

My Doubts:

- The Bible states that God loves all his children. Well, some of his children are gay, and they go to Hell. But if he loved them why would he send them to Hell? Just for not being exactly how he wants them to be. That doesn't sound very God-y-ish.

- Where did God come from. Just all of a sudden, one day *POOF* God appeared?

Please answer my doubts, because I know Im probably missing things. =]

In the beginning, God gave all his children free will. Free will to chose things, so life wouldn't be boring. God wouldn't want robots as kids now, did he? He also gave us obstacles in life, like floods, earthquakes, and other things like that. And in my theory, the attraction to another of the same gender is that "obstacle". Now I personally don't think being gay is a bad thing, it's just love, but maybe in the bibical times when the bible was written, the many bible writers felt it wasn't right for man/women to be gay due to the fact you can't have babies with another man/women.

Also, say you found out your son murdered someone intentionaly, wouldn't you give him up and send him to jail? And would you still love him? Yes, and yes, but that's just my way of explaining it.

God works in weird ways, it's just a mystery since this all dates back billions and billions of years ago.

Definitely nothing wrong with believing in a higher power, and not being sure who or what it is. I feel the same way, I'm also agnostic (that's the term used). We won't know until we crossover.

These conversations that you have had with people are making me sad.

Christians are supposed to have sensitivity towards others- God doesn't want Bible pushers because that just pushes others away from Him.

Now, let me clear this up. The WORST part of hell is being seperated from God for eternity. And you choose that- if you want to be with Him or not and you choose here in this life. For whatever reason you don't want to be with God, then you don't have to be and that other places is hell.

This whole Christ and God thing is because God created us to have a relationship with Him- not so some go to heaven and some go to hell. There's a song that says even if heaven is a 5x5 foot box I'd still want to be there is God was and that's the truth. It doesn't matter but that we are with God.

@CCC- I'm sorry that happened to you [all though calling God an idiot in such a place, well, I could see they could get upset about that xP] and how insensitive they were. You're probably like me- if someone pushes and shoves me one way you bet your butt I'll go the direct opposite. But don't judge the whole religion on the people in it but judge it based upon the context and the evidence for it.

Again- it's not just about going to heaven or hell because you were good or bad, it's choosing if you are with God or you aren't.

1. I believe that being gay is not something you are just stuck with because it's in your DNA. I believe it's a sin because it goes against the ways the world were set up. If you steal a lot and it become habitual, you wouldn't just say "o it's okay" because of that habit. It wouldn't be excused would it? Now, maybe he steals because he has been influecned to do it. Maybe he doesn't have much money but that doesn't make it all okay, does it? But this guy however hard it may be CAN change that, couldn't he?

On that note, again, I would go to hell as a straight the same way as a gay person would if I didn't have Jesus because we ALL have sinned and no one can be in God's presence that is unclean. I've lied, I've cheated, I've cursed, etc. and so I am a dirty soul. The difference is I choose Jesus to clense me of all unrightousness.

2. God has just always been here. God created the world just like an artist can create a piece of art. God made gravity, He made time, He made the rules of how this world works and is fit and because the artist doesn't follow the rules of his piece, neither does God have to follow the rules of His creation.

We are finite and so we can't even comprehend the infinite being that has always been and will always be. It's hard but if you think about it that way it makes more sense.

1. When Jesus was hung on the cross, he said "Father, why are you doing this to me? I thought you my Father to protect me from things like this". But eventually, Jesus rose again to save all of us. In my belief, God has a plan for everyone. He does answer our prayers, but in ways that we have to discover for ourselves. Like I said before, God gave us obstacles and if we depend on him to help us through them every time, life would not be well lived.

I believe in God, I've had a long discussion about this with my dad and I asked him a whole bunch of questions about religion and Christianity, and he really brought my faith back.
He explained to me that not all of the bible is true because throughout time, since it was written by many different people, they have different beliefs, adding what they think. So eventually the bible was all put together, with all this opinions but with the same general idea. I also asked him about Jesus, and how there is proof if he really was God's son, and my dad said "Well they punished him for saying he was God's son, so don't you think if he was being hung on the cross going through all this pain, just give in and admit he wasn't the son of God. "

It made more sense when my dad explained these things, but yea that's what I believe.

Just out of curiosity- but if it's all just opinions and not all is true then how exactly do you know which parts really are true and which aren't?

Now, this is saying that the Bible is "God breathed" or God inspired. In other words, God helped people in writing the Bible, it wasn't just random people and their opinions.
