"Oh please, that's pathetic." Was all Nicola said, rolling her eyes. "And exactly how do you plan to fight me and Lucian off at the same time, while trying to keep her upright?"

"I'll sacrifice myself if I have to, but I'm not letting you hurt Jessica."

Nicola sighed. "Okay. We'll just come back later then. You can't hide her forever."

Nicola gave the two a wave before heading outside. "I want you to sneak in later on tonight, when they're asleep."

"Yes master." Lucien said, looking down. "Are you mad I couldn't finish them?"

"A little disappointed, but no matter. You came close, and I know you'll be better later on when you're going practically insane due to not feeding."

"You alright, Damien? You got stabbed..."

Damien held his blood-stained chest. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Lucien nodded. "I know that girl. Not that it matters, I never really knew her that well. Don't worry, I won't have any attachment."

"Uh, hello? He stabbed you!" Jessica said, rolling her eyes.

"You know her? Hm. What's she like as a person?"

"Yeah, I know." Damien said with a small sigh.

"She's different. She's moody and is very antisocial. That's all I really know, it's not like we were friends or anything.

A pause. "You'll need to feed, won't you?"

"Well, any information you have about her may be useful." Nicola told Lucien. "I'll leave it up to you how you get rid of her later on."

Damien shrugged. "I guess, but I'll be fine." he said.

Lucien nodded, and stayed quiet for a few minutes. "Why didn't you kill Damien back there?"

Jessica rolled her eyes. "Look, my neck's already bleeding, just take that."

"Oh, I don't want to kill him. Not yet, anyway." Nicola laughed. "After all, it would be no fun to take the girl without being able to see his reaction."

Lucien gave her a smirk. "You're not that bad for a vampire."

Damien nodded, and took the blood off of Jessica's neck.

"Oh, dear Lucian, you haven't seen anything yet." Nicola told the young vampire as she opened the door to her house.

Jessica didn't flinch away. "Take more if you need to."

Lucien gave a laugh. "Is that good or bad?"

Damien shook his head, and back away. "I'm fine Jessica."

"I'll let you decide that." Nicola grinned, sitting down in her living room.

"If you're sure..." Jessica said, dabbing at her neck.

Lucien sat next to her. "I assume...and hope...that it's a good thing."

Damien stood there awkwardly, not really knowing what to do or say.

Nicola didn't respond, simply giving Lucian a smirk. "So, how's vampire life suiting you?"

Jessica sighed. "I'm gonna go get cleaned up."

Lucien returned the grin. "Better than I thought."

Damien looked down. "You should leave. They won't want you if you're not with me, and I don't think I can protect you good anymore. The choice is yours, but it might be the best option.
