"Uh, it's okay?" Jessica said, slightly confused. "So, uh... I don't really think - or want - to go outside again..."

"Yeah, that would probably end up bad." Damien sighed.

By now Nicola was back in the town, or what was left of it. Paying no attention to the occasional fight breaking out around her, she approached a house, frowning. Goodness knows whether anyone was left alive in there, but hey, it was worth a shot.

Damien laughed a little. "Well, it can't be that bad in here."

I'll decide on a name once I see what the boy is like xD

"Well, your kitchen is pretty disgusting..."

Nicola gently pushed the door open and stepped inside, wrinkling her nose as she looked around. Huh. She moved quietly, glancing in the downstairs rooms before heading upstairs.

"Who's there?" a boy asked, stepping out of the shadows. He had a knife in his hand, and pointed it at Nicola.

"It's not that bad..." Damien defended.

Nicola paused, although she didn't appear fazed by the knife. "How cute. Are you going to try and stab me?"

"Yes it is."

The boy examined Nicola for a minute. "Let me guess, vampire?" he asked, still not lowering his knife.

"Well you can't blame me."

"Well done." Nicola said sarcastically, smirking and slowly clapping her hands. "So, anyway, you gonna try and fight me? I like it."

"Why not? It's your kitchen."

"Hm, seeing as I've killed others like you before, it shouldn't be hard." the boy smirked. "I mean, surely you don't think all the humans forgot about you. Some of us knew a select few vampires survived, and we decided to change that. As a vampire hunter, I've dealt with your kind a lot."

"Yeah, but why should I clean something I barely use?" Damien asked.

Hm... change him into a vampire or keep his awesome vampire hunter-ness? Oh heck xDD

Well, that caught Nicola by surprise. "Aren't you the tough one." Suddenly she smirked. "Well, you clearly failed. Who's winning right now?"

"Good point. Let's change rooms: your bedroom. It's disgusting."

xD, it would be interesting if he was turned into one, so he would have to deal with the guilt of betraying the other hunters.

"Oh, us hunters aren't siding with the humans, how stupid would that be? We're all on our own side." the boy added.

"Come on, what's so bad about that?" Damien asked.

"That makes no sense, seeing as you're humans yourselves." Nicola laughed. Then, without warning, she dived at the boy, easily wrenching the knife from his hand and throwing it aside.

"It's disgusting! There's stuff everywhere, it's even worse than my room back home!"

The boy was able to push Nicola off of him, and got back up. Have to try harder than that."

Damien sighed. "Guess you're right."

"So tell me, boy, have you fought many vampires? Never mind killed them?" Nicola asked, quickly darting behind the male and kicking the back of his knees, before grabbing his hair and pulling his head back.

Jessica laughed in triumph.

Again, the boy shook off the pain. "Yeah, I've killed and fought many. In fact, I've only failed once."

"Okay, besides that it's messy, what's so bad about here?"

"You're about to fail again." Nicola whispered, using her other arm to pull and twist the boy's arm behind his back, while yanking his head to the side. "Now, I could kill you, but... it would be much more fun to change you, Hunter Boy."

"Oh yeah, you live in the middle of nowhere. Did you live here before you got changed?"

Lucien.

Lucien cringed in pain. "Why...why would you do that?" he asked softly, not wanting to show his fear.

"No, I found this place abandoned after I killed my parents."

"Oh, a few reasons. It would be fun to see your guilt at abandoning your... fellow hunters, but also... I need a fighter." Nicola got on her knees so she was closer to Lucien. "Ready to say goodbye to humanity?"
