Jessica groaned, putting her head in her hands. "Shall I just give myself over to Nicola right now?"

"I can protect you." Damien repeated.

Jessica stayed where she was. "I don't know, Damien... you know she'll be stronger than you. I'll admit I'd probably be safer here than back home, but..."

 

[YellowJedi]

"Jessica, trust me." Damien wrapped his arms around her. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you, I promise."

Jessica tensed up, but didn't flinch away. "I'll hold you to that when Nicola next attacks us, in one way or another."

"And I'll keep my promise." Damien whispered.

Jessica stayed in Damien's arms for a moment or two before wriggling free, edging away slightly. "That's good to know."

Damien became quiet, and just looked at the ground. He had been through so much today, he didn't know how it could possible get worse or better.

Jessica sighed, before making a small noise and getting to her feet. "Mind if I take a shower? If the water is even still on..."

"Yeah, no problem." Damien said. "You know where the bathroom is, right?"

"No, but I'll find it." Jessica said, giving a small smile before heading upstairs.

Damien nodded, leaning across the couch and closing his eyes.

Eventually Jessica returned, shaking her wet hair slightly to get Damien's attention. "And I'm back."

Damien nodded, opening his eyes.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up about that idiot." Jessica said, rolling her eyes and sitting down again.

 

[YellowJedi]

"I know I shouldn't, but it's so hard to." Damien sighed.

 

[tamaturtle]

"Just forget about her. I would" Jessica sighed, although she was lying slightly. To be honest, she was rather worried that Nicola might come for her, but dang her if she was going to show it.

 

[YellowJedi]

Damien nodded. "I'll try Jessica, but it's harder then it sounds."

 

[tamaturtle]

"Yeah, I guessed as much. At least you're trying." Jessica said, giving a small shrug.

I think Nicola should go find and change some random person to set on those two (mainly Jessica, but yeah) xD
