Jessica really didn't know what to do. "Uh, I probably would have been dragged into it anyway, except I'd probably die." She gave a smile and an awkward nod. "So, uh, thanks for letting me avoid death."
About and hour passed after Jessica had fallen asleep, Damien came home. He ran downstairs, only to find a sleeping Jessica. "Thank god." he whispered to himself, collapsing on the couch next to her.
Damien shrugged. "Nothing much, killed some people, destroyed some cities." He told Jessica calmly. "The humans have no chance, not even their weapons could hurt us."
"I'll kick there &^* if they even come near you." Damien yawned, laying down and putting his head next to Jessica's head. He gave a small yawn again.
"Aw bless." Jessica picked up the TV remote and turned it off, as all it was showing was static. She sighed. "I feel kinda awful, knowing what's going on up there..."
"I know that." Jessica snapped, staring at the floor. "I just... feel awful for getting out of it. If I hadn't been an idiot and gone wandering in the woods, well... it would have been me up there."
