Sakura sighed again and stared at Matsuda.

Matsuda jumped up and down. "ARE YOU GUYS ENGAGED? CAN I BE YOUR BEST MAN AT THE WEDDING??"

Mello was keeled over laughing.

L stared at Matsuda with wide eyes. "No, we're not engaged. So you can't exactly be our best man." He walked towards the door slowly, waiting for Sakura.

Matt watched L carefully, then leaned in to Matsuda. "Maybe they're planning on eloping, so that's why they're not having you as best man. Maybe..." He trailed off, glancing at Sakura. "Maybe it'll be a shotgun wedding!"

Sakura ignored Matsuda and tuned him out completely. she stared at Matt and mouthed. "When I'm back, you're dead." She then walked toward the door.

Matsuda was a squeeing, giggling, jumping mess.

Mello saw what Sakura mouthed and looked at Matt. "You're in for it, bruh..."

Matt glanced at Mello, with wide eys, but he caught sight of Matsuda and started grinning. "It's so worth it," he muttered. "So, Matsuda. Do you think that's true? I reckon there's gonna be a shotgun wedding, and then you can babysit while they work on the case."

Sakura shot one last glare at Matt before walking out of the main room.

Mello shook his head. "She's gonna maul you."

Matsuda released one last hugeass squee and then dropping into his chair, he had used all his energy.

"Was Matsuda's fangirl session not worth it, though?" Matt said, watching Matsuda. "I hope the kid wouldn't have L's hair."

L followed Sakura, looking defeated. "Where are we stopping first, then?"

Sakura sighed and glanced back at L, "Well, since you actually listened to me and put shoes on.... We can go to the bakery first."

Mello laughed, watching as Matsuda sat in his chair, panting. "Alright... It WAS pretty worth it..." At the mention of L's hair, Mello ran his hand through his blond locks, thanking God he didn't have hair like L.

L dragged his feet along the floor, pulling his hands out of his pockets. "I can't take them off, then?"

Matt grinned as he saw Mello run a hand through his hair. "I think we should stop talking about this now, though, or he'll have a heart attack."

Sakura shook her head. "Nope, I'm afraid you have to leave them on. They might kick you out of somewhere if you're not wearing shoes."

Mello nodded, sitting down in the char next to Matt, looking up at the screens. "Good idea..."

"Do I have to keep them on while we're outside, though?" L asked, looking down at the worn-out trainers on his feet. "They're uncomfortable."

Matt turned his chair around, grinning at Mello. "What would you do if you had L's hair.

Sakura sighed. "Yes, you have to wear them outside. Just be glad I didn't force you to wear socks."

Mello shivered. "Wig time."

L stopped dead. "Can't I just put them on every time we go in a shop? I don't like wearing them."

Matt grinned, prodding Mello's arm. "Are you sure you're not wearing one now?"

"I'm sorry, but you have to keep them on." Sakura told him, stopping and turning to look back at him.

Mello grabbed his hair. "I'll prove I'm not!" He gave his hair a good tug. He then rubbed his head, grumbling. "I can't believe I fell for that..."

L continued to look down at his feet, shuffling. "Why?" He glanced up at Sakura, pushing his thumb to his lip.

Matt grinned, sitting back in his chair. "You're stupid, so you fell for it." He brought his knees up and closed his eyes. "I'm going to sleep."

Sakura sighed. "Reason one, you'll probably step on something and the next thing you know, I'll be picking stones from the bottom of your feet! Reason two, people won't just let you go around without any shoes on. Come on, let's go."

Mello growled. "Hell no, You're helping with surveillance!"

"I always go without shoes, though," L said, chewing on his thumb. "It's fine. Why would now be different?" He hunched over even more as he started to take his shoes off.

"No I'm not," Matt muttered, standing up and walking over to the sofa.

"Okay, don't blame me when you're kicked out of the bakery." Sakura told him, running a hand through her hair.

Mello growled. "Why don't you ever do s**t?" He turned to the screens, beginning to watch.

"I'll wear them in the shop," L muttered, picking up his shoes. "What can we get in the bakery? Can we get some more cakes?"

"Because the surveillence is getting us nowhere," Matt said, curling up on the sofa and closing his eyes.

Sakura walked to the elevator, pressing the button. "Yes, we can get some cake."

Mello sighed, leaning back in his chair and watching the screens.

"What about some éclairs?" L asked, walking faster now he was bare-footed. "And some other types of pastry?"

"Hey, Mello?" Matt muttered, kicking his boots off and letting them fall to the floor.
