Alone in Darkness

[nokotchi]

January banged her head lightly on the table and groaned. "Don't remind me..." she mumbled, licking her ice cream once more.

 

[YellowJedi]

Eon finished his ice-cream and threw out the cup.

 

[nokotchi]

January ate the last bit of her ice cream cone and stood up. "Where to now?" she asked.

 

[YellowJedi]

"Hm, not sure. You have any ideas?" Eon asked.

 

[nokotchi]

January shrugged."I dunno.... We could go for a walk or something." she suggested.

 

[YellowJedi]

"Oh, sure." Eon said, getting up and holding January's hand.

 

[nokotchi]

January smiled and walked out of the ice cream shop with Eon. She looked over at him and smiled. "Follow me, I want to take you somewhere."

 

[YellowJedi]

Eon nodded. "Where?" he asked.

 

[nokotchi]

"You'll see." January lead Eon to the edge of the forest. "You okay with going into the forest?"

 

[YellowJedi]

"Yeah, that's fine." Eon told her, looking around.

 

[nokotchi]

January then lead Eon into the forest. She moved forward with ease, jumping over trees that had fallen and dodging various branches. She would look back at Eon every once in awhile, making sure he hadn't fallen behind. She then approached a tree with large claw marks on it. She traced her fingers along the marks and whispered," We're almost there."

Eon nodded, slightly confused. He stayed quiet and continued to follow January.

January walked a little farther, finally reaching her destination. It was a waterfall pouring into a small pool at its base, which was connected to a small stream. The water in the stream was beautiful, pristine and teeming with small fish. The waterfall's churning water reflected off the sun and showed a small rainbow at the bottom. There was a small patch of wild flowers near the bank of the stream. "Isn't it beautiful?" she asked quietly, smiling over at Eon.

"Yeah, this is beautiful." Eon said, looking at the waterfall.

 

[nokotchi]

"I thought you'd might like it if I brought you here..." January said, looking over at another tree with claw marks. " This is where I come on the full moon. Something about it here seems to calm me somewhat on that night.."

 

[YellowJedi]

Eon looked at the tree, before turning back to the waterfall. "I can understand why. This place is so relaxing."

 

[nokotchi]

"Yeah," January whispered, walking up to the edge of the stream. She sat down and dipped her hand in slightly. "The memories that this place holds are very melancholy though.."

 

[YellowJedi]

"Maybe that can be changed..." Eon said, sitting next to January. "I mean, sure you can't get rid of the bad memories, but you could always make good ones..."

 

[nokotchi]

January leaned her head on Eon's shoulder. "That's true...." she said quietly. "Coming here with you will definitely make a good memory.."

 

[YellowJedi]

Eon smiled and leaned in, kissing January softly. "I'm glad it will."
