"Okay, I see how it is," Christien laughed. He nodded and said, "I think we can visit them tomorrow instead. It's already afternoon, and we need to get dinner and we're going dancing tonight. So we'll go tomorrow instead," he smiled. When she shifted, he did as well, though more out of his distracted discomfort than anything. "I'll just.. I'll call them now, to let them know." He slid from underneath her and made his way towards the phone. His mother answered; bonus.
"Maman, c'est Christien," he began.
The rest of the conversation continued, in French, of course.
"Christien? Thank goodness you're alright!" his mother, Marie, replied.
"Yes, I'm fine. I'm staying in Paris, with my girlfriend. We're coming to see you tomorrow, if that's okay?"
His mother said it was fine, and asked him countless worried questions. Eventually, they finished and he rolled his eyes and sighed. "I thought she knew I was safe," he murmured, chuckling lightheartedly and making his way back to Elaina. Despite it being distracting, he resumed his former position, with her on his lap.
