Morgan gave the order to the woman on the phone. After ordering cheese, pepperoni, Hawiian, and whatever the heck Asher got, Morgan hung up. "It'll be over in about a half hour." The door opened and Kyle walked in, looking pi**ed.

"Is he here?" Kyle demanded. When Morgan shook her head, he rushed over to her and swallowed her in a hug. "Are you okay? How's Cody?" He finally noticed Asher. "How long have you been here?" he inquired, relieved that he had been here in case Morgan needed extra help.

"I'm fine, Cody's good, I don't think Jack even touched him. I don't exactly remember when Asher got here, I just know it was after he left. I'm a little bruised, but we need to go to the doctor after dinner. I ordered pizza, and it should be here soon." Morgan mumbled into her brother's coat.

Kyle nodded. He walked over to Asher and gave him a firm pat on the back. "Thanks, man. I know she's a handful, but I don't know what Cody and I would do without her."

Asher looked at his watch, although it didn't really help because he didn't remember what time he'd left the house. He made an estimation and said, "I guess I must've got here about twenty minutes ago or something, give or take." He shrugged then, waving his hand dismissively as Kyle thanked him. "It's nothing, really. I honestly don't know what I do without her, either. I don't even remember what I used to do," he replied, emitting a soft chuckle as he finished. "Besides, I'm definitely not perfect, either."

Kyle chuckled and went into the kitchen with Cody.

Morgan looked over at Asher and gave him a small smile. She grabbed his hand and squeezed. "I am so greatful to have you in my life." she murmured to him. After kissing him lightly, she walked over to the living room, and picked up a fallen lamp, and rearranged the pillows.

Ughhh; fail.

Asher smiled. "I still believe you think far too highly of me," he murmured in reply, "But if it means I can have you for just a little bit longer, I'd let you believe I'm Superman by night. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for you." He returned her kiss after a moment's hesitation, simply because he still never anticipated it. As she moved away, he helped her pick a few things up in the living room, and asked her, "I wonder if you could tell me when I can expect to at least sort of get used to that."

"Get used to what? My bruises, my kisses, or me thinking highly of you?" Morgan asked, straightening a few more things. "I can't help but to think highly of you. I can't help kissing you, and the bruises are just sort of something you won't get used to. But, you can act, like me, that it doesn't bother you. This week's story will be that I failed to catch a ball while playing with Cody, and it hit me in the face. And you'll go along with it, right?" Morgan had started rambling again, words coming out without her even thinking.

"Well, really I was talking about anything you do that shows me some kind of affection," Asher replied, "It always leaves me a little dazed because I'm still not used to the fact that you, or anybody else for that matter, would want to, and that I also let you do it because I like it." He hadn't at all meant the bruises, because he knew what she'd said was true- he couldn't ever get used to seeing her bruised like that. "Of course I'll go along with it," he said, "But I hate that you have to get bruises at all, and that I should expect you to have them on a regular occurrence, and that I have to get used to pretending not to care." He suddenly felt the anger towards her father that he thought he should have been feeling earlier, as soon as it had happened. At the time, it had all happened so fast that he'd had no time to really reflect on what he'd done to her. "I hate that he does this to you and gets away with it; I hate it more than anything in the world because it hurts you."

"Oh." Morgan said, standing up, "Well I find you to be extremely attractive, whether you think so or not. And, I like the look on your face after I kiss you, or something along those lines. You look so surprised, and it's really cute." She looked down at her feet and continued, "And I know you hate him, and so do I, but he won't get away with it for much longer. Once I turn eighteen, I'm moving, and leaving this town without him knowing. And he'll never touch me, or Cody, ever again." There was a knock on the door. "Kyle, will you answer it?" Morgan called. Kyle answered the door. It was Riley.

"Rumor around school is that you moved in with your brother. Hunted around and found the place." Riley said, as he walked in the apartment. Morgan immeadiately turned around, letting her bangs fall over the black eye.

"Go away..." she growled, her voice low and intense. When Riley didn't leave, Kyle started towards him to make him leave.

Asher chuckled a bit. He did always look surprised after it, and he figured that would last for a while yet, because often something as small as seeing her smile at him if he happened to see her at school made him feel like he had to pinch himself. "He deserves worse than that for what he's done to you. And if I had some faith in public authority then I would be telling that the Police should know, but as far as I'm concerned they don't help a soul and that's only reason why he's getting away with it this time."

Then Riley entered. Great, more trouble. He turned and took a slight sidestep so that he was just in front of Morgan. "When are you going to get it into your thick skull that she doesn't want to see you?" he said, his voice straining with frustration.

"I'm just trying to be a supportive baby daddy. I was going to offer to take Morgan to the doctor. Whatd'ya say, cupcake?" He tried to look past Asher to see Morgan.

"No, thanks. Kyle will take me. You can leave now." Morgan said through her teeth.

"I'm trying to be here for you. Now turn around and talk to me, b`tch." Riley said, his voice rising.

Morgan turned around, furious. "You what? I don't want you here for me. I don't want you to come to the doctor with me, I don't want you in my life. Now you can leave with your balls, or without them. Your choice." Morgan exploded, cracking her knuckles.

Riley grabbed her by the shoulders and kissed her. Morgan fought to get away, but was too weak from what had happened earlier. Kyle grabbed the back of Riley's collar and pulled him off of Morgan with ease. "Don't. Touch. Her. Ever. Again." he said, eyes narrowed. Riley was literally in the air, face to face with a trained soldier.

By the time Asher could have reacted to Riley, Kyle already had a hold on him that no doubt was a hell of a lot more effective than anything Asher could do. Of course, he wasn't weak by any stretch of the imagination and most people found his mysteriousness as well as his height of about six feet and four inches intimidating enough. He could hit someone, too, if he wanted to- well, we knew that anyway, that's how he'd ended up in detention in the first place. But he felt that now he was in Kyle's hands, it was best to leave it that way. Great; so, in the space of about an hour, his girlfriend had been raped by her own father and kissed by her ex boyfriend. He wondered how he'd managed to get himself into this one sometimes, it sure as hell wasn't the easiest way to start dating. "If you so much as put a finger on her again, so help me you'll be sorry."

Morgan was fuming. She stormed out of the room, not wanting to even look at Riley. She wiped her lips on the back of her hand and grabbed the mouthwash from the bathroom cabinet. She took a swig and spit into the sink. She looked at herself in the mirror and held back a sob. She had no clue how Asher dealt with her. "I'm such a mess..." Morgan mumbled to herself. After taking a few deep breaths, she came out of the bathroom. Riley had already left, and Kyle was sitting on the couch, trying to calm himself down. She looked over at Asher and gave him another sad smile. "Lucky you- your first girlfriend has an insane life. And not insane in a good way."

Asher leaned back slightly against the wall after Riley had gone; he, too, like Kyle, was having to take a moment to let the anger he felt towards Riley seep out again until he was calm once more. He'd regained his composure by the time Morgan had come back from the bathroom. The way she looked at him made his heart ache; she still had no idea that he wouldn't rather anyone else in the whole world to be with him than her, no matter how ridiculous her life was. He didn't hesitate in going over to her and taking her into his arms in a gentle and caring, yet tight and protective hug. "Yeah," he murmured, "I am lucky. You listen to me- I don't care what you believe about yourself or your life, but I think that you are perfect. Your life is crazy, but mine had never been plain sailing, either, and normality would drive me completely crazy. I want you. No ifs, buts or howevers about it, you are gorgeous and wonderful and I don't want anybody else. Nothing - not even being kissed by your ex boyfriend, or having his baby or anything else completely ridiculous - is going to change that."

Morgan couldn't fight back the tears anymore. She sobbed into Asher's shirt, hugging him tightly. She didn't want to let go, not for a while, at least. Morgan finally pulled back, and her watery green eyes locked with his grey ones and said, "You are the perfect one. You are the most caring, sensitive, fantastic, creative, amazing, attractive, loving man I have ever met."

Asher ran his fingers through Morgan's curly, red hair gently, until reaching her cheek, which he... carefully caressed, might be the right way to put it, though he hardly realised he was doing it, for there was no way he could have pulled his gaze from hers, even if he'd wanted to. "Well, I have to at least try to be all of those things to feel as though I deserve to have you," Asher replied softly. "I never thought I could even have a friendly relationship with another person, and then you just exploded into my life, the most beautiful, understanding, creative, honest person I've ever known, and you changed everything. I don't want you to think for even a second of the day that I'd rather be with anybody else, and you know I'd never tell you that if I didn't mean it." Normally he was hesitant, and always waited for her because he still thought he had no idea what he was doing; but at that moment in time, all he wanted was to kiss her, and so he did.

Morgan was surprised at the kiss, at first, but she kissed him back quite willingly. She pulled back as the doorbell rang again. "I swear, if that's not the pizza, I'm going to kill someone." she murmured under her breath, forcing herself to let go of Asher. Thankfully, it was the pizza. Morgan gave the guy the money and took the pizza. Kyle took it from her hands and brought it into the kitchen. Morgan followed, taking Asher's hand and leading him in with her.

This is not my finest hour. Excuse the crap writing xD

Asher nodded mutely as Morgan went to get the door, a sign of his agreement with her that it had better be the pizza at the door. He wondered who else it might have been who could have turned up to disturb the sort of peace that had been once again established just then; his parents, perhaps, ready to drag him back home because he was out of the house far too much these days, and therefore too much fun was being had, and none of it was going to help him. But it was the pizza, much to his relief, and he gladly followed into the kitchen to eat it. He felt completely ridiculous and self conscious as he stood before the pizza at first, his mind telling him, "But today's not pizza day! It should be pasta day! But there isn't any! Why?", as he kept his eyes fixed to the pizza in front of him, waiting until whoever it was inside his head that told him it was all wrong to go away again and he would be able to just eat it without thought the way everyone else could.

Totally okay, I'm feeling the same way.

Morgan looked at Asher, handing him a plate. "Are you okay? I can run and get you different food, if that's the problem..." She looked worried. Obviously, at that point she should be more worried about herself, but for some reason, the look on Asher's face made her concerned. She picked up a piece and put it on Cody's plate for him before picking up her own slice and taking a generous bite. Morgan looked back at Asher, making sure he wasn't have a freak-out, or anything.

All the same, I hate boring people with the stuff I write ):

Asher didn't hear Morgan, at first, and so for a moment he didn't even look her way. Eventually, though, he blinked and looked up from the pizza, feeling completely stupid . He waved his hand dismissively and said, albeit softly, "No, no. It's okay. Just give me a second and I'll be alright." How ridiculous it must have looked, looking fearfully at a pizza and assuring her that he'd be okay with it at some point in time. He reached out and thanked her as he took the plate, gripping it tightly. "She has more important things to worry about..." he murmured to himself, several times. "Just, um... Keep talking about other things and.. And then I'll forget about it. I can do it, I was fine. I've been fine all day. I was fine yesterday.." He knew he was rambling now and, feeling like a complete idiot, he just grabbed a piece of his pizza as fast as he could- before his conscience could protest- and ate some of it.

"Okay..." Morgan said, still watching him carefully to make sure she wouldn't have to calm him down. Without looking away from Asher, she asked Kyle, "How was your day?" Kyle went into a whole explination about how he had gone down to the court to ask for custody of Morgan and Cody. Morgan was only half listening. She was more focused on Asher to listen fully. She nodded in all of the right places, and kept eating the pizza so she wouldn't have to talk.

After having taken a few careful bites of pizza, Asher had calmed down sufficiently, and felt a little more at ease about it. He wished it hadn't happened at all, he felt self conscious and considering Morgan had already been through hell today, he didn't want her worrying about him on top of it all, but at least it hadn't gotten worse, the way it sometimes did. He didn't even want to think about how it felt when that happened, especially because of how the smallest, most ridiculous things could set it off- things that normal people don't have to think about. He was listening to Kyle more than Morgan was, most probably, because if another voice filled his head and pushed out the other one, it was easier not to think about it as he ate some more of his pizza. While Kyle was still talking, he looked at Morgan and mouthed, 'Sorry about that' to her, chewing on his lip afterward.
