Sinead stared up at him with shock. He had cracked. He had given in. And while he hadn't said it explicitly, she now knew that he cared for her in some way. She smiled and kissed his cheek, then whispered, "I care about you too." She climbed off of him and sat down, holding his hand in her good one, smiling to herself. She gave his hand a squeeze, marveling at how small hers was in comparison. "You could come by my hotel room tonight, if you'd like."

Alexander shook his head at her comment. "Wait wait wait. All that, I finally give in and then I get this? I think I'll take that back, I un-quit." He looked down at their hands, it was nice though. "You are so tiny." He mused. He lit up another cigarette with his other hand. He took a drag. He made a coughing sound at her last little comment. He choked out the smoke that was filling his lungs. He was taken aback by her offer, it deffinitely didn't seem like her at all. He knew hwever, that he'd be curious to know hoe the trial and everything went so he agreed. "Um... okay. I'll keep that in mind."

Sinead laughed, then lifted his hand to her lips and kissed it softly. "Alexander, you don't get to have take backs!" She smiled and then moved so that she was securely under his arm, cuddling up against his chest. "The Downtown Inn, room 615. Just make sure you knock before you enter, okay?" Truth be told, staying alone in a hotel room made her feel a bit lonely. It scared her, too; if she was alone, and her dad came, he could easily take her out.

Alexander made a slightly pouty face. "That's no fair!" He chastitised. Alexander nodded, making a mental note of the hotel and room number. "615. Got it." He felt a little weird, one minute she was the annoying girl that sat beside him in English and he couldn't seem to get rid of, the next they were acting like they were dating. Were they? He leaned his head down and kissed the top of hers lightly. "So, by the way, why are you all dressed up today? Make up and everything..."

"Because I won't have time to stop at the hotel before court, and also... I kind of wanted you to notice me," she admitted, blushing. "So... yeah." She moved to kiss him, then grinned cheerfully. "But you'd better show up tonight, or I probably won't kiss you for a long time..." Her grin turned into a smirk, and she toyed with his collar. "I mean, unless you don't want me to kiss you."

Alexander grinned slightly and peered down at her. "Really? That's actually so cute." He looked at her for a moment, running a finger along her rosy cheek. "I will." He promised her simply, hoping to put her at ease. He paused, pretending to actually think about it like a stressing decision. "No I think I'm deffinitely good with the kissing." He told her "So did you really do it for me? Wow I've never had a girl do that before, never has one put anything special on to get my attention..."

"Well, I'm not those other girls, so you're just going to have to deal with me and my clothing from this point on. I know you may not like it, but I'm just being honest." She ran her fingers along his jawline, then gave him another kiss. "But yes, I did do it for you. No, I'm not a girl who needs to have a guy. I'm independent and self sufficient. So don't think that I'm going to be some sort of damsel in distress or anything. That's not my way."

"Party pooper." Alexander told her "Are you kidding me, you won't strip on a bench? Well you're no fun, where's your sense of adventure?". He scoffed. Ridiculous. At the second comment he responded. "Okay... I never said you were. I just said it was cute. That was all, no damsels in distress."

"God, I can just feel this becoming so irritating." He grumbled under his breath slightly. That was one thing that annoyed him about her, she always seemed to jump to conclusions and get defensive about her beliefs and how unlike he helpless girls she was. He stuck his cigarette back into his mouth before he said something else and probably pi**ed her off.

She noted his annoyance with her, and gave a sigh. "Sorry," she said softly, reaching up to touch his face. "I just... gosh, I don't want to be like all those other girls that you've been with. I mean..." She blushed and looked away. "Not that I don't think your attractive, I just... I think there is more to you than that." She sighed with frustration. "This is going to be more difficult than I thought." She rested her head in her working hand.

"It's okay, you don't have to apologize." He told her pulling her closer to him. He sighed slightly not knowing what else to tell her, what could he tell her. That she wasn't like them, that he didn't really worry about them like he did her, there probably wasn't more to him than that. He couldn't say any of that. He kissed her forehead lightly and then asked her. "What is?"

"The whole... me making you happy thing. I mean, compared to my messed up life, there isn't much you can do to screw me up even more. But... Gosh darnit, I want to make you happy! But I'm headstrong and loud, and you're jus headstrong and... gruff. I just feel like no matter what, I'll mess everything up somehow." She sighed, then looked up as her lawyer's car approached. "Oh, that's my ride. I'll talk to you later tonight, okay?" She kissed him on the cheek, then got up and jogged out to the car.

Alexander had a bunch to say in response to her answer but it seemed like he wasn't going to get the chance. He opened higareteis mouth to reply, but only small uncoherant sounds escaped, he sighed and closed his mouth. "Okay." Was all he said in response to her dashing off so quickly. He shook his head slightly. "What am I gonna do with her?" He asked himself softly. He then figured that there was probably no point in even bothering to go to class now, so he might as well just go home now. He got up off of the bench and sauntered over to his vehicle and drove home.

That night, after the court hearing, they decided to continue the case for the next few days, until all the evidence had been presented and the jury could reach a verdict. Sinead was in her hotel room, having changed out of her fancy attire into a pair of short shorts and a tank top, not really caring if she looked casual. She just needed to relax. Things had gotten fairly heated, and while Sinead hadn't taken the stand that day, she knew she would have to at some point.

Alexander changed into a pair of simple jeans and a plain shortsleeved black button down. He hated to admit it but he was actually a bit nervous about going to see her tonight. He found it slightly out of character for her to invite him over but he brushed it off as she simply didn't want to be alone and besides after her trial she would probably just want someone to talk to. He drove over to the hotel, not really finding it too hard to find seeing how there was only a few hotels and motels in their small town. He went in and smiled at the concierge politely and walked on past without a word. He headed up in the elevator and when he got to her floor he paused a bit. Was it six-fifteen or six-sixteen. He pause and thought, hesitating between the two doors on either side of the hallway. He hoped he was right taking a slight shot in the dark thinking he remembered hearing six fifteen and it gave him a good feeling so he went with it. He knocked on the door and waited holding his breath a bit, hoping he had the right suite.

Sinead heard a knock on her door, so she climbed off of her bed and stood by the mirror, making sure she looked decent. She still had her makeup on, which was good. Okay, she guessed she looked... decent. Very different from her usually attire, but it would have to do. She opened the door and looked up at Alexander with a slight smile. "Hey. I didn't think you would come," she murmured, leading him into the room. "Would you like anything to eat or drink? I can order room service if you'd like." She looked at what he was wearing and blushed. She'd never seen him with a crisp button down shirt. It looked good on him.

Alexander let out a breath of relief when he saw the petite girl behind the door. He shrugged slightly at her surprise. "I told you I would," he reminded her. He followed her inside and closed the door quietly behind him. "No thank, I'm fine. But by all means, if you want something..." He raised an eyebrow at her "What are you blushing about over there?" He asked her smirking a bit at her reddening face. "How'd it go today by the way?" He asked, he figured that was one of the reasons she had wanted him to come over here and before he forgot he figured he'd better ask.

"I already ate," she admitted, getting herself a glass of water. "Please, have a seat anywhere, I don't really mind where..." She sat down on the bed and put the water by the bedstand. "I was just noticing your attire. You clean up pretty well," she said, smirking at him. Her face seemed to fall when he talked about the trial. "Well... let's just say I probably won't be at school for the next few days. Things are more... complex than I originally thought. They have to go through all of the evidence before we can let the jury decide the verdict. I'll have to take the stand at some point..."

Alexander nodded. He sat down in one of the chairs that was near the bed. He couldn't help but smirk a little bit at her response. "I wasn't really trying and am not exactly cleaned up. I just changed shirts. I have more than one you know." He teased. "That's understandable. Look, if you don't wanna talk about it we can talk about something else..."

Sinbead rolled her eyes at his response, then scooted closer to him and entwined her fingers in his. She thought about it, then nodded lightly. "Yes... I think I would rather focus on something else, not that I can finally feel free from him." She moved and planted a kiss on his chin, grateful that Alexander had shown up. "Thank you for being here for me."

Alexander looked down at where their hands were joined. He looked back up again to her. He nodded slightly, he honestly had no problem moving on to a different subject. "Anytime." he replied simply. It was true, he wasn't entirely sure where it had come from, probably somewhere deep inside him, but he wanted to be there for her. He wanted to protect her. He sighed softly and lightly squeezed her hand.
