Would anyone be interested in seeing a backlight mod for the P2 Re-releases? It seems like a big improvement, and I haven't seen many people do it before, let alone documenting it. If all goes well, I could sell mod kits...

Not at all! Basically, you put lights behind the screen so that the pixels are more visible in dark environments.

Sure! My initial idea was just a panel of SMD LEDs, but I’d love to hear other suggestions.

heres the doc on gdrive and, instead of the smd leds, ive seen some ppl use backlights from kits made for modding gameboys (thing to note for that method is thickness to fit device)

this sounds cool! I always have to use my Tamagotchis in the light because it's so hard to see it in the dark.. but yeah, this sounds like a good idea! so, how does this work? do you have to put little lights inside or something?

Pretty much, yeah! The goal is to make a circuit board that goes between the screen and the main Tamagotchi board that uses power from the coin battery to brighten the screen. The first version will probably have an external power source, though.
