Introducing...Tamagotchi 4U!
Hi, dear TamaTalkers! I'm back (finally!) for my Tamagotchi 4U update. I've got the next 4 nights off (a rare treat) so I'll slowly catch you up with all that's been going on. I figured I'd take more time and do a more lengthy update, considering this is my log's 500th post! What better way to celebrate than to post about the 4U? I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you, awesome readers, for sticking by me these last few years I've had this log going. Hope you continue to enjoy it!
This post will cover the events occurring on Saturday, October 4. I was on the go this day so I didnt have the chance to get down into the nitty gritty of it all. These are just my first thoughts.
Last time, I started off with the introduction of the newest members of my virtual pet family. As you have already seen, I have the blue (of course ) and white shells. Interesting thing about the 4U is that no matter the color shell you get, all of the backs are white. Different design choice there. I also like the fact that they're about the same build as the TMGC+C.
Feeling super excited and handling everything with care, I opened the packaging (with my husband looking on amusingly) for the Tamagotchis and the face plates. The Tamagotchis themselves are pretty, especially the blue, since the shell is metallic. The face plates are stunning and vibrant with color. For a thin piece of plastic that pops off very easily, it's surprisingly sturdy. I had to try them on for size immediately. I'm debating whether or not I should change the way I edit the dimensions for my pictures. Usually, I zoom right in to where you just see the screen (so the shell isn't usually seen), but I can't deny how nice the face plates look on camera and can't resist showing them off! I'll play around with it. I guess it all depends on the situation and whether or not I have enough time for the extra editing.
Now that the initial cosmetic thoughts are out of the way, let's get into some of the content! I caught the hatching sequence on camera for one of my 4Us (the one that hatched the female) just because I thought it would be fun and I haven't uploaded a video to my Youtube channel in a while (sorry about the background noise...I was watching a movie at the same time). On a side note, I want to thank my subscribers. I didn't think I'd have any, considering I only occasionally upload videos, and very amateur ones at that, so much appreciation to you.

Of course, when I was starting out, I was just doing everything for the pure discovery and fun of it all. I hadnt read up on the matters of training, nor was I familiar with all the menu options, so I didnt know to discipline. Im still learning, so bear with me! I do like it that the 4U has the option to train your character to use the potty, brush its teeth, clean up, etc.
Im loving the cute animations on the 4U!
So on the way to where I was going, I played around with the NFC connection on my Galaxy S5. Didnt quite get the hang of it then but I managed to get my 4U to register my phone, as evidenced by the following animation. Sorry about the shaky photos from here on out. Like I said, I was on the go. Another difference on the 4U is that the text in the speech bubbles now scrolls like a marquee. Wish I could read whats being said!
Managed to catch one training opportunity, though I didnt know how to correctly handle it at the time. I thought I simply had to send him to the bathroom before the poo dropped but I later learned that he also needed to be praised.
This is about all I had time for on October 4. Ill be back with more of my discoveries soon. Thanks for reading!
