Still on a small high from her three previous sucesses, particularly the arrow that was dead center, Summer couldn't help but sneak a quick peek at Mr Rael to see if he'd noticed. After a few moments she loaded another arrow - the last one in her set - and grinned, turning the bow and arrow on its side. "Hey, think you can use this like a crossbow?" She asked, but decided not to risk it and turned the set the right way up before firing, smiling at Flynn and his success. "Yeah, well done!"

Celia thought for a second and said lightly "Nah, don't think so. You could could try, though.". Smiling, she said "It's an improvement. You'll get better - it's not like archery's that important.". She fired another arrow at the target, which landed at the same place as the previous arrows. " I'm completely sure you'll be better than us in basketball and tennis." she laughed. There weren't that many sports she was actually good at - swimming and maybe archery. After firing, she rested. Her arms were getting tired from the constant firing.

Mr. Rael walked by Celia, Summer and Flynn. He glared at Flynn and Celia as he walked by, muttering, "OK.. OK.." Then he stopped next to Summer. "Good.." He walked by, and then continued his evaluations of the other people. OK.. Good.. Bad, WORK ON YOUR TECHNIQUE!" Mr. Rael snapped the last part at a poor 15 year old girl, who looked absolutely terrified of him. As Mr. Rael corrected the girl, Flynn turned to Summer and Celia. "Eh, I doubt we'll be doing basketball and tennis in survival classes. Archery is actually useful, since you could snipe people down with arrows. All you can do with a basketball is hurl it at someone's face. But then most people are good at catching basketballs, so it's rather uneffective."

"You could throw a basketball at their face after you blind them with pepper spray. I mean, I'm guessing that being blinded with pepper spray hurts bad enough, and being hit with a basketball in the face too? Ouch. That's something." she commented thoughtfully, firing another arrow at the target. Her imagination was going over the top again. She thought of the tattered up piece of paper in her pocket that was supposed to be her schedule. "What do we have after survival?" she asked.

Flynn laughed. "Like I'd have pepper spray on me while playing basketball or holding one a ball. I would get in so much trouble back home if they caught me on the court with pepper spray. Besides, if somebody has a gun or knife, there's no point in using a basketball to fight." Mentally, though, Flynn thought, Although for me, it would be fine to fight with just a basketball, since I could use my powers to make up for it anyway. "And about what's after this.." Flynn shrugged. "I would dig my schedule out but Mr. Rael would probably cat-" Suddenly, at that moment, Mr. Rael noticed Flynn talking to Celia instead of shooting. "YOU OVER THERE! GET BACK TO WORK!" Flinching, Flynn quickly stopped talking to Celia. He reloaded his bow with an arrow and shot the arrow, watching it land in about the same spot as last time.

Haven't posted on this in forever.

Peyton wasn't the greatest at artery but she did have pretty good aim and once she got the hang of the hand placements and technique she wasn't half bad. She wasn't getting any bullseyes but she had seen enough in movies to know how to hold the bow so after a dew tries she was able to hit the target. She held back her cheers when she got one just on the edge of the bullseye. She did however make a small cheerful squeal and jumped a bit pointing at the target circle. She had never done archery before and she had never come too close to the center before and he was excited. After a moment she calmed herself down and tried to stay quiet not wanting to get into any trouble.

Summer flinched too when Mr Rael shouted, although she was still smiling. "First time I've ever had praise off a gym teacher." She laughed, going to get another arrow but then remembering she had run out. "Hang on, I'll check my schedule seeing as I'm out of arrows..." Once again she pulled out her battered piece of paper and unfolded it before groaning. "Ohhhh, history. Raise your hand if you reckon it's going to be all about how bad the Europeans are?"

"I agree, but if I raised my hand, I swear Mr Rael would hang, draw and slaughter me." mumbled Celia, quickly reloading and firing at the target. She wasn't too bad at history; it wasn't her best, but it wasn't her worst, either. She did, however, find it boring. Then again, Celia found many subjects boring - Maths, English, Science and Languages. Anything that involved sitting down and copying notes off the board was automatically boring for her. "I wonder how the war's going on? I don't think they're going to tell us much in here, but we don't have our phones or laptops." she complained.

"Yeah, I agree, so not raising my hand.." Flynn listened to the two talk while he reloaded his bow and shot yet another arrow at the target. This time, it was a little bit closer to the bullseye, but not so much. Sighing, he listened to Celia mention the war. "The war, huh? That's a good question. Hopefully, our side is winning. If the EU won, that would absolutely suck. Life would become living hell. At least we have Canada and a few other countries like Japan on our side. Course, not having the Europeans on our side makes things so much harder."

Summer didn't pay much attention to Flynn and Celia's conversation until a while later. "Personally, I've lost track of who's teaming up with who. Is Russia an EU? I can never remember..." she sighed, feeling slightly stupid and focusing on putting her schedule away. "Why did this war even start anyway? I'd look it up but, yeah... they took our stuff away." A pause. "Maybe the idea here is to completly isolate us from the war "

"I dunno, really. I think Russia isn't part of the EU. Hopefully, not, Russia has way too many resources and weapons from the Cold War era, so it would absolutely suck if Russia wasn't on our side. I really can't remember who was on who's side either. Never paid too much attention to the war even when I was back home." Pausing as Mr. Rael yelled at them to go get their arrows out of the targets, Flynn walked up to his target, began to pluck arrows out of it and continued. "Well, this is meant to be a place to keep us safe, so it would make sense if they kept war info from us. If something dreadful like Canada joining the EU's forces happened, they wouldn't want us to panic."

Back home... the words made Summer think of something. "Where is this place anyway? I never paid attention on the way up here... we could be in Australia for all I know." She followed Flynn up as they went to get their arrows. It didn't take her long to get them all, seeing as they were mostly in the center. "Flynn... what do you think WOULD happen if Canada joined the EU? Canada doesn't have that much power... does it?" Summer asked, suddenly feeling young and scared.

Celia stood still for a moment. She hadn't heard much about the war, even at home - her mum wasn't someone who supported it in the first place and didn't like her hearing about it and taking sides. She wasn't sure how it was going, nor how much power the countries had. "I'm not sure where this is... I just got on the train and fell asleep pretty much immediately." said Celia, sighing. It suddenly struck her how far away from home she must be. Was she even in the US? No, was she even in America? She suddenly felt homesick. She picked up another arrow and fired it at the target.

Flynn hesitated for a moment, hand clutching the end of an arrow. "If Canada joined the EU's forces, then the US would be in danger since the EU could plant weapons right at the border and then have easy access to attacking us from the north." He pulled the arrow out of the target, letting it drop into the small pile of arrows next to his feet. "Let's just say, if Canada joined the EU's forces, the war would turn in the EU's favor."

Summer was silent for a few moments, letting that idea sink in. "Wow." She turned around, walking back to her shooting spot and talking to Celia to think about something else. "You got on a train? Huh. My parents drove me up here... whereever here is." Suddenly fear filled her. "Oh god, what if we're in Canada? What if Canada joins the EU?...What if Mr Rael hears me talking about all this?"

"I got up here by being drove by my parents, but I have no idea where we really are, either. All I know is that we went north.." Blinking, Flynn tried to recall what town they had taken the exit to here from, but soon realized they had gotten to this school by a country road surrounded by vegetation. "Ah, it should be fine if Mr. Rael hears, I mean, the staff at this school are all American people working for us, right..?" He said it in a way that made it sound as if he was trying to convince himself as much as he was trying to convince Summer and Celia. "I mean, that's why this school is here, to keep us safe.." A feeling of dread washed over Flynn.

Celia smiled nervously, her hands trembling as she let go of the arrow. "O-Of course it is. W-What else would it be for..?" Celia stuttered out. She couldn't get rid of the feeling of worry deep in her stomach. The accents, the strange school... Everything. This time she couldn't just shake the feeling off. Celia was anxious, nervous; Mr Rael was right there, and she was sure that he could kill them all easily. For once in her life, Celia was hopelessly scared.

Archery had ground to a halt as Summer stared at the ground, thinking. "I- I don't know guys. Mrs Partridge was British, Mr Worthigton was... German, there was the French teacher I heard, and Mr Rael's god-knows-what." She swallowed, still thinking hard. "There's... there's a chance they could all be immigrants, right?" Summer was not convincing herself at all, and she doubted very much she was convincing the others. There was one thing niggling at the front of her mind, and she eventually decided to bite the bullet. "Guys... can you do anything, y'know, different? That no-one else can do?" Oh god, what was she saying?

"Er-" Celia stuttered out. What was she to say? She couldn't just burst out with 'I'm a Selkie!', that was impossible. What was she asking about? What kind of different? She was confused and somewhat shocked. Summer had hit the nail on the head. Should she say it? Celia struggled to say something, trying to find the right sentence. "W-well, I mean, kind of, I don't know-" she rambled on. Shoud she? Celia blushed deeply, flustered and brushed her hair back with her hand. She looked down, trying to think.

Rather caught off guard by Summer's sudden question, Flynn stopped for a moment. "Well..I..I.. Uh.." He stuttered hopelessly like that for a few moments, unsure of what to say. He glanced at Celia to see she was just as flustered as he was by Summer's sudden question. Which probably meant that Celia was hiding something, just like him. Well... He pondered whether to come out with it or not. Finally, he asked Summer, "What about you? Can you do anything unusual?"
