Marie rolled up her sleeve slightly, showing off pale skin of her own. "I'm just as pale as you are, Gale. So if you sunburn, I probably will too. Then we can be red hot messes together."

He kissed her hand, and then up her arm. "I like the wow you glow." His eyes looked up at her, but his lips remainged where they were. "You being red sounds hilarious."

Marie looked into his eyes and smiled at him. "When I get sunburned, I get very cranky and mean. You don't want to see me with a sunburn. And thank you for the compliment."

Marie nodded, cuddling close to him. Her cheeks were already turning pink from the cold, and so was her nose. "Come, let's go back to walking," she said daintily. "I want to make sure we don't get too cold before we reach the pier."
