Jade finally found her breath. "I'm fine now, I swear. Croy, don't worry, okay?" She patted the top of his head, then slowly got up. She turned, and cautiously went back to the tent. She tiptoed around Jackson, then layed on the floor of the tent, falling asleep once more.
That morning, the smell of freshly cooked eggs and meat wafted through the camp, luring the men out of the tents.
Jade was cooking, a blanket wrapped around her. She looked slightly flushed, out of breath. Her hair lacked some of its usual luster. But other than that, she seemed perfectly fine. She whistled happily, letting Toby put some spices and herbs into the food.
