"You're right, I do." Sakura knocked once more on the door, still awaiting an answer.

Matsuda looked past Matt, staring at one girl who looked about as nervous as he was. "Her,"

"You cheated by doing that, though," L said, chewing on the edge of his thumb.

Matt glanced back at the girl in question, the gave Matsuda a shmall shove towards her. "Go on, then."

"I don't care, you said I won. That's that." Sakura said, knocking one last time on Near's door.

Matsuda shuffled over to the girl shyly, attempting to start up a conversation.

L shook his head, shuffling on the floor. "I lied. You cheated."

Matt smirked and walked back over to the group. "That took a while."

Sakura scowled. "Well, if you lied, then you cheated also."

Mello held Matt's drink out for him to grab, looking over at Matsuda and the girl with a grin. "It looks like they're getting along quite well,"

"It means we both have an equal advantage," L said, tilting his head.

"Really?" Matt took his drink from Mello and glanced over at Matsuda. "We're not going to hear about anything else but her, then."

Sakura sighed. "So I guess this isn't over."

"Yup," Mello groaned, staring down at his empty shot glass.

"No, it isn't," L said, turning away from the door. "We should go back to the main room."

Matt smirked again, glancing at Mello. "He drank the shot easily enough. I think he's gonna get trashed tonight."

Sakura crossed her arms, still scowling. "Yeah,"

"That'll be fun to see..." Mello said with a snicker.

L led the way this time, pulling Sakura by the chain.

"More fun than watching you get trashed?" Matt said, smirking. "You stood on the table and started dancing to Hips Don't Lie."

Sakura drug her feet as she was pulled along.

"Shut the f*** up, Matt." Mello growled. "I want another shot."

L paused for a second, letting Sakura catch up. "When will the others be back? Matt can help with surveillence, at least."

Matt pulled the money out of his pocket and handed some of it to Mello. "Go get one, then."

Sakura ignored L completely, walking forward with a plain face.

"Light, you want one?" Mello asked, heading over to the counter.

"Sure," Light said with a brisk nod.

L stopped again, turning to face Sakura. He tilted his head and pushed his thumb to his lip again.

"So, Light," Matt said, glancing at Matsuda again. "Are you planning on forgetting about Misa and picking a girl up here?"

Sakura just continued to walk, acting as though L didn't exist.

"Tsk, and risk Misa finding out and slaughtering me? I think not..." Light said with a sigh.

L pulled Sakura back by the chain, still staring at her.

"She's all the way in America," Matt said, grinning. "Might as well try."

Sakura stumbled backwards slightly. She then resumed walking, tugging L forward.

Light shook his head. "Oh, you don't know Misa. She finds out about everything."

L dug his heels into the floor and pulled Sakura back again. "Tala." After a slight hesitation, he reached out and grabbed her hand tightly.

"Your loss," Matt said, shrugging.

Sakura kept the same plain look on her face and she still said nothing. She walked forward once more, attempting to pull her hand away from L's.

Mello returned with two shots in hand. "Here, Light."

"I know it's my loss." Light growled, grabbing the shot that Mello handed to him and chugging it down.

L held onto Sakura's hand tightly and pulled her back again. "If you don't speak to me, it could endanger the case."

Matt grinned, watching Light. "I think Matsuda's ditched us," he said. "So, I'm ditching you." He started to walk away, towards the group of girls in the corner
