Damien decided not to think. Shaking his head to make the pain go away, he punched Ember in the chest with all his strength, something that could even kill the strongest immortals.
Ember yelled out loudly, rolling away and clutching his chest as his body twitched before falling still. Was he dead? The humans watching the fight certainly thought so. "Oh my GOD! He's killed Ember!"
Faylinn stood in shock for a few moments before whispering "Are you nuts? You just k-killed another immortal and a few humans to boot, in broad daylight, in a public place!"
Damien looked down. "I was trying to protect you Fay. I saw this look in Ember's eyes, he was crazy. He was willing to let you die so he could kill me. And the others, I needed to get rid of the witnesses."
"You... you just killed my best friend!" Faylinn sobbed, tears finally falling. "I don't care if he was crazy!" She shook her hed. "Get out of here, Damien. Before someone else human or otherwise turns up!"
Faylinn watched Damien go before sinking down the wall, sobbing her heart out. Eventually she straightened, only to find a man towering over her. An immortal, she could tell. "Faylinn?"
Ah, I was going to in a little bit, but that's fine.
Damien sensed another immortal with Faylinn, but he didn't care anymore. She didn't care about him and how he was trying to protect her, so why should he care anymore?"
January closed her sketchbook in anticipation for the class's end. She hated school. The homework, the awful teachers, and all the stress. She wanted to escape it all, but how would she?
