"In a few years, when you're as old as I am now and you're wasting away from drinking dangerous substances and breathing in smoke." Tarou clarified, "I really can't see you aging well, Son."

"Really?" Nagoya asked, surprised but happy.

Axel started to get mad at that, "Hey man, I'll age fine! Plus, it'll be waaay more than a few years before I'm as old as you." He got off the tree he was leaning on and set it on fire, "I can handle smoke."

Dixie nodded, "It'd be fun!"

"Okay, have fun." Tarou shrugged.

"That sounds good to me<3"

Axel started pouting, "I'm not gonna be ugly." He muttered, "Meanest dad ever."

Dixie eventually fixed his hair, "there! Wanna take a look?"

"Hey, I'm not mean!" Tarou said, "Not to you, anyway."

"Sure~"

"You said I was gonna get ugly and waste away!" Axel frowned, crossing his arms.

Dixie pulled him over to a mirror, "Seee?"

"I'm just giving you a warning! What kind of father wants an ugly son? I love you, you're my kid." Tarou said, "And I don't want you dying young."

"wow, it looks great!"

OH MY GOD THAT WAS ADORABLE

Axel blinked, and looked at him, ".....Y-you... You love me?"

"Aw, you think so?" Dixie giggled, "I think so, too!"

OH YOU SHIPPER YOU

"Well yeah. Flesh and blood." Tarou said, "And you're not the worst son I could have discovered."

Nagoya hugged her.

THAT'S ME 8D

Axel looked at him for a long time, then hugged him, "I haven't had a father who said that to me for fourteen years..."

Dixie hugged him back, "Hey, I have a question for you!"

Tarou was surprised at the sudden hug, but once he got over the shock, he hugged him back.

"Yeah?" Nagoya looked at her.

Axel was all like I'm not gonna cry I'm not gonna cry tough guys don't cry

"Why do you spend all that time in the library?"

Tarou squeezehugged him, "Well, I'm here for you. And I'm not going anywhere."

"I like reading, that's all."

Axel started to cry, and tried to do it as subtly as possible.

"Have you read like, every book in there? Does that make you super smart? O:"

Tarou noticed he was crying, but didn't say anything about it.

"I've read... most of them?" Nagoya shrugged, "Maybe."

"I-I love you too, Dad." He said quietly, then let go and wiped his eyes, "I-I'm not crying! Your stupid hair just got in my eyes, that's all!"

"Woaaah." Dixie giggled a little.

"My hair's not stupid and you know it." Tarou smiled at Axel, "But I'm glad you love me too."

"Eh, it's not that impressive."

Axel smiled a little, "Maybe it's not stupid, but there sure is too much of it."

"Well, I wouldn't be able to do it."

"Not too much. Just the right amount." Tarou corrected him.

"Have you ever tried?"

"Dude, it's like you have your own mane." Axel looked at his hair, "Do you really need that much?"

"No, I haven't. It seems hard."
