“We have to get him to a room!” Allie yelled.
The elevator seemed to go slower then it ever had before.
“Jon… Hang in there.” Alex said, holding his hand.
“I’ll be fine.” He said breathlessly.
Allie had tears in her eyes, so she turned away from Jon, not wanting to show it.
“You’ll be okay, man.” Spencer said. House just stared, expressionless. Thinking.
The elevator finally went up. Patrick and Spencer ran carrying Jon.
“Turn here!” Allie shouted, the rest of them running alongside.
Derek and Allie got him set up. They wrapped a strip of cloth around his leg, hoping that he hasn’t lost too much blood from his torso.
They hooked him up to the heart monitors.
“You should leave.” Allie said to Patrick, Alex and Spencer.
“No.” Alex said firmly, stepping towards Jon.
“We’re gonna got you through this.” She said quietly. She didn’t know if she believed herself.
They waited about an hour. They did procedures, and they got his heart rate back.
For a while.
“Jon, I…” Alex began, ready to break down.
“Don’t worry about me.” Jon said, half smiling. “There are bigger things.” He grabbed her hands. “Help everyone stay strong.” He continued. “Make sure Kelsey knows that I love her so, so much. “And…” he shut his eyes. “Don’t stop. Things are changing, for better or for worse. As long as we have each other, it will be fine. You’ll make it.”
And then they lost him.
Alex dropped to the floor, unable to get up. Allie ran to Patrick and cried. Spencer let tears slip. He went towards Alex. House looked down. Derek stepped out. Everyone cried.
He was really gone.
