Uratama Cooking...? Help!

Hello friends!

I keep trying to mix ingredients in the same GUTs group together on my Uratama, but my food is exploding D:
I'm not sure if I can only cook recipes that belong in my tamagotchi's family group? Or only cook as an adult?

My Ura Young Furawatchi is trying to make Fantail Fish and Kintarou Candy, which are both listed as "Ura Mame" foods, but I think my character is "Ura Meme".
Can I only cook Ura Meme recipes on an Ura Meme character?
