"Well, that's a very fair point, and I respect you for saying that," Asher replied, smiling at her. "Ah, I know it still doesn't hurt too much, but it's not snow it's--" Finally, the fast backward skating had taken its toll on him, and he caught his toepick and slipped backwards, landing on his backside. He had to laugh.

"I feel much less stupid and find my own fall even funnier thanks to you doing exactly the same thing," Asher laughed. "I'm not quite sure which was more spectacular, really." He paused for a moment then shifting, taking Morgan by the waist with one arm, the other hand holding onto the barrier of the ice rink, and pulled them both up together, dusting off the ice shaving from his trousers.

"Okay, well, I'm not good at deciding things so we can head back and if we see somewhere we'd prefer to go, we'll digress," Asher suggested, skating backwards across the width of the rink to reach the exit, then taking his skates off. He also took his jacket off, and draped it over Morgan's shoulders. She was clearly being affected by the cold, so he felt she may as well have it and keep warm.

"No," Morgan said, giving Asher his jacket back, "You aren't going to get sick just because I'm a little cold." Even though I'm extremely flattered that you would be such a gentleman. She took off her own skates and slid on her boots. "Let's go!" Morgan said, grabbing Asher's hand and pulling him out of the rink.

Asher asked her, "Are you sure, Morgan? Honestly, I'll be fine, if you want to have my jacket; you're a lot colder than I am." He continued to walk beside her, back in the direction of school while he waited for her to answer.

"Asher, I swear, I'm fine." Morgan said, a little testy. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the thought, she just wasn't used to people trying to take care of her, and she was actually a little weirded out. The girl walked a little faster, wanting to get inside as soon as possible. She stopped in front of the back door to the school to open it, when the principal came out.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" He asked, eyeing Asher and Morgan and thinking they were up to no good.

Asher just shrugged his coat back on more comfortably and said, "Okay.." quietly, clearly she didn't want to say any more on the matter, so neither would he.

He stopped when the principal stepped out in front of them and looked at him cooly. He was definitely good at keeping a calm face on things. The principall on the other hand, looked slightly uncomfortable with being under Asher's gaze.

"Oh, nothing, sir." Morgan said with great charm. "I just felt rather sick, so Asher brought me outside for some fresh air. According to him, my face felt a little hotter than normal."

The principal cleared his throat and said, "Well then, you look fine now, so get back inside."

Morgan stalked inside but kept her jacket and gloves on. She sat back down in her seat in front of Asher's and rubbed her hands together.

"Well, covered," Asher said once the principal was out of earshot, with an approving, crooked smile forming in his countenance. He hadn't wanted to say something first to the principal, in case it was a terrible excuse. He found he was far more effective if he just stood there and looked scary.

"Thanks, I try." Morgan said with a charming smile. She took her gloves off and shoved them in her pocket. Without even realizing it, she was now looking directly into Asher's eyes when she spoke to him, and it wasn't making her feel flustered. "You know, I thought that this detention would be boring. But you're kind of making my day fun."

"Yay." Morgan said with a broad grin. Her sidekick buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and read the text message, rolling her eyes. "**** you...." she mumbled to the phone. Suddenly, he mood wasn't as bright as it had been ten seconds ago.

Morgan shook her head and said, "My dad's f`cking girlfriend. She thinks she runs the house. She told me that as soon as I get out of here, I have to pick up Cody, go to the store, get food, pick up her dry cleaning, and make dinner. I don't mind picking up Cody, considering I do that without being asked everyday, but seriously? I'm not that b`tch's little maid." Morgan crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes, "I hate her with a burning passion."

"Ah, so like the evil --sort of-- stepmom.. Just don't show her that she's getting to you. She sounds like an immature child if that's how she treats you.." Asher nodded sympathetically. He said, "Listen, I'm not doing anything after this.. If you need any help, I can pick some stuff up, get your groceries or something, if it would help you."
