Yes, it's cruel, but it's how people live in China. Do you think they kill cows and other things in a humane way? No. But it's how we live and get the meat we need to survive. To people in India, where cows are sacred, we're probably viewed as bad as you view the people in China. Somehow I seriously doubt they blow it out of proportion and throw tantrums over it like you've been doing throughout this whole topic.

Calm down.

If anything, you're the one not listening and paying attention to the views of other people posting. If you're going to post something like this, you need to have an open mind to what other people have to say and not go off into an episode of rage everytime someone has an opposing opinion to yours.

No offense but no one should completely believe what they see on the internet

And what I don't get is how giving the turtles a quick death is inhumane. They are a source of food and a quick dath means no suffering. Anyway I made my previous points. As I said if you feel like having your fingers in your ears go ahead. I think a number of us tried to explain things to you. You can either have a controlled debate, or keep on stomping your feet to get your way. I won't be shocked if this gets locked though if you choose the second option

okay im not being angry or stroppy or anything here but i just wanted to say that i do want china to put up laws against killing animals at home in anyway they want if a turtle died in no pain thats ok with me but if they suffer great pain i just dont find it right!

i thought the vids was acually vids about turtles being tortured but its a animated lady speeching.... im sorry but that was unexpected

p.s. my original start for this program was a fur program that showed how they got turtle shells and animal fur and keeping it whole and not damaging the shell.

No but through this entire topic if somethign didn't go your way you went and yelled about it. It's fine if you don't like what you see but both me and SK both looked at the video. We saw humane ways to get sources of food, produce, whatever they were getting.

The turtles were not suffering. You said yourself they cut off their heads first. If you don't believe me you said this I can go back and quote you again. That's probably the best way in doing do since the turtle does not suffer for hours on end, they just go. How do you think they kill cattle and pigs and anything we eat? You just need to know how to do it and you can do it in a way that will not make the animal be in pain. Clearly after that turtle got beheaded, it felt nothign after that so I'm not sure why you're getting all wound up and whiny.

There are numerous species of creatures that Chinese eat as well as other places in the world. And there are laws to ensure that the tradition of having some foods are done in a humane kill which means no suffering.

I agree with SK the video looks very PETAish, and I would not be shocked if PETA edited this video to make it worse than it really is. They tend to overexaggerate what problems they see that are out there. Bottom line is its a food chain. One of many food chains. I don't like it either, but its by their tradition.

To end this post, I also want to comment if you think we can not understand you then perhaps you need to work on your typing skills a bit more. I tried reading your posts when you were getting all wound up for no reason and they made no sense. I'm not attacking you I'm just calling it as I see it.

Well, I know it seems cruel to kill a turtle but people in China eat turtles. It's there food source. Some country's have animals that we think are 'weird' and 'cruel' to eat. Someone might say that they think killing cows is cruel but it's meat is one of our main food sources.

Chopping off a turtles head, I will admit, seems cruel but if you think about it cows, chickens, pigs etc.. are all killed the same way. It is a quick way to die. If you kill it by say, boiling, it would take much longer and cause much more pain then if you chopped off it's head.

I don't seem to sound mean and heartless, that's just my veiw. I respect what everyone is saying. ;]

If you don't like turtle meat, don't order it in from China. Simple as that.

That's... Gross. I've never shopped at Tesco mainly because I've never seen one.

I don't really care about clothes that much either but if they do that to animals I'd make sure I never have any clothes from there at all.

Well in that particular culture, they use other things to make clothing and food it looks like. Just we we use sheep's wool to make shirts and mix it with various other fabrics. It looks awful to us but keep in mind some places in the world are a lot poorer than us so in those cases, you need a different way to survive.

look this is simple if i had a painless death i would like that (but not now of course)!but if i had my head chopped then my skin (the turtles shell) ripped off and my head left still gaping in a bowl while ur body is getting hanged and your feeling pain beyond pain??

wrong haha unlike humans they dont die as soon as they are beheaded so sorry beeeepp!

as we are totally dependant on our brains as soon as we lose it we die but turtles (like chickens) dont die straight away but die due to pain i can proof this look it up okay!

People have different opinions about the world and thats normal a dead turtles head can breath and live even without a body and thats normal for a turtle but in nature how often are turtles beheaded before eaten? none!

its not the fact they eat turtle thats okay with me (really)but the fact is the way they kill them its just inhumane i really didnt want to do this but look here really plz dont if you dont want to ive warned you heres a few videos plz dont click if you  get sick easly or are a lover of turtles look heres wat they do hang the turtle upsidedown hang its tail on a hook so i comes out chop its head off and its still gaping in a water bowl! then they sell the shell and the body meat really if they wanted turtle meat couldnt they kill the turtle so it felt no pain that wouyld be good (p.s. im not veggie) or so i heard im to scared to look on the vid my freinds told me this!
