This is going to be a failpost, just be forewarned.

Chloe headed through the grocery store. Soon her cart was fills with a variety of fruits an other regular groceries such as milk, eggs and bread. She went to te cash register and waited in the line with the least amount of people. She didn't care if they had more items than the longer lines with only a few items each. She was soon out of the store and outside trying to find where her driver was parked.

Sterling rolled his eyes. "I know what you mean." He gripped the steering wheel tighter as he thought of all the things he heard people saying about him at school. "I've only been here a few weeks and I've already heard dozens of rumors about me." Sterling shook his head and ran a hand over his gelled hair. He glanced at Sinead, uneasiness washing over him. "I can only imagine what you've heard." Sterling turned onto the main street and took the next exit he needed to get into the neighborhood where Sinead lived.

"I've just heard... stuff. Mostly about you and girls," she said honestly, giving a slight shrug. "I can kind of tell you're harmless, and just a flirt, but you know how people like to gossip. While nobody knows about me, I know about everyone else." Being quiet and secluded had its perks, honestly. She liked not being involved in high school drama. She had enough issues to deal with as it was. Her home life was a wreck, and she had to get good grades if she ever planned on getting away from her father and supporting her mother.

Sterling sighed. That's all he had ever heard. "Let me explain something to you Sinead," he said in a kind but firm tone. "Yes I like girls. And yes I flirt. But it's mostly just things like big smiles and compliments and stuff like that. I am never disrespectful and I do not sleep around. I can promise you that. I guess you could say I'm a smooth flirt. I never say anything I don't mean. If I'm with a pretty girl I'll tell her what I think of her. If I like her clothes or her smile or just the way she looks in general I'll say so. But I'm not the guy people think I am. There's a difference between innocent flirting and being a jerk." Sterling smiled at Sinead and nodded his head at her as if to say 'you know what I mean?'. "Be sure to tell me where to go by the way. I don't know exactly where to go yet."

"Thank you for clearing that up. If I had any friends, I would tell them what you just told me. But since I don't, I guess you'll just have to deal with knowing that one person really knows what you mean," she told him softly. She managed a small smile at him, then looked away and pointed to a street corner. "You need to turn right here, and then go about three houses down." She was lying about which house it was, but it was important she not be seen coming home with a boy driving. Her dad would have it in for her if he saw.

A twinge of sadness overtook Sterling for a moment. He sat in silence just thinking about what Sinead had just said, about having no friends. He obediently followed her directions and parked his Jeep in front of a very large, expensive looking house which looked like a cookie cutter version of every other dwelling in the neighborhood. Sterling sighed and looked at Sinead with a smile, a little disappointed she had to go. He put a hand softly on her shoulder and looked her in the eye. "I'm your friend Sinead," he uttered softly with a warm smile and took off his sunglasses. "If you ever need anything just let me know okay?" Sterling quickly fumbled in his pockets for a pen and scribbled his cell phone number on an old faded receipt before handing it to her. "Want me to walk you to the door?"

A trail of red creept up Sinead's neck when Sterling touched her, spreading to her face. And then he said he was her friend, and the redness got deeper. "U-u-um...." She stammered, becoming very inarticulate, embarrassment taking its hold on her senses. "Thanks," she squeaked, taking the paper and putting it in her pocket. In answer to his question she said, "No! I'm fine!" With that, she scurried out of the car, then stood and waited for him to leave.

Sterling grinned at Sinead and had to stifle a chuckle with her getting so flustered all of a sudden. "Bye Sinead! Just remember I'm always a call or a text away." With that he slipped his sunglasses back onto his face and sped away after a quick wave to Sinead. Sterling couldn't help but to smile as he drove. She intrigued him. He couldn't wait to get to know her a little better and was glad that he made a new friend.

After Sinead was sure he had left, she retreated back to her actual house, glad that her dad wasn't going to be there for a while. From what she could tell, he was probably working late, and then he would be going to a bar and drinking for a couple hours. It just might give her time to be ready for his return. She went to her room and worked on her homework frantically, needing to get that out of the way before anything else. After that was finished, she tried to take a nap, completely exhausted. And then she waited.

Sterling ran his package to the post office and sent it away with a heartfelt letter to his sister, Auburn. He made sure to mention Sinead and told Auburn that she kind of reminded him of her. Now back home at Aunt Mel's apartment, Sterling plopped down onto the couch and attempted to find something decent to watch on television, though his efforts were in vain. With a loud sigh he stood up and stretched, bored. He needed to do something productive. His eyes swept over the apartment in search of something that needed to be cleaned or straightened. Nothing. Aunt Mel always kept everything spotless. "Hmmm," Sterling said aloud, unsure of what to do. "Guess I'll go see if Alexander wants to hang out." He strode over to Alexander's apartment and rapped on the door in hopes that he was home.

(I'm just going to make a random post about my charrie's state of being over the next couple of days.)

That next day, Sinead didn't show up at school, which was odd. She had never missed a day, completely devoted to her coursework and studies. The day after that, nothing. When she showed up after two days of being absent, she had a look of pained resignation, and her arm was in a sling. She avoided everyone, especially Alexander and Sterling, practically jogging to her classes. She ate her lunch in the girls' restroom, a look on her face that was a cross between rage and grief. When one of her teachers asked, she said that she had broken her arm when she fell down some stairs.

(rp days or day days?)

Alexander noticed Sinead's absence. It was fairly hard not to notice the empty seat beside him in English class and the lack of nagging to focus, and pay better attention. He simply told himself she was probably just sick. When she returned he he could have sworn that he caught a few glances of her dashing around the corners but he wasn't entirely sure is it was her. By English he had confirmed this and also noticed her sling. Due to the fact that they had a supply teacher who was very strict on a silent policy and continues slapped her wooden ruler against the desk at every whisper Alexander was afraid to ask about it, that and he didn't want to bring it up in appearantly wh*rehouse earshot of their wonderfully nosey classmates. It also seemed like immediately after class she seemed to run out of there as fast as she could.

Alexander felt almost as if she was avoiding him. When he finally managed to find her, escaping from the bathroom he caught up with her. "Sinead!" He said falling into step beside her. "What the hell happened to your arm? he asked her quizically. He figured she would probably lie, but he was sort of coming to be able to tell her lie from her truths, most of them anyway. "And why have you been avoiding me all day?"

Sterling kept his eyes peeled for Sinead at school. He looked forward to seeing her again but was disappointed to find that she was absent for the last few days. He assumed she was probably sick or something. When she finally did come back he saw her arm in the sling and the nasty remains of a bruise on her face. That sure caught him off guard. So that's what she was trying to hide from me when I drove her home a few days ago Sterling thought to himself as he observed her scurry out of class. Something was definitely up. He looked at Alexander sitting in a couple desks in front of him and watched him chase after her. Sterling followed suit and went after them. He approached up beside Alexander just in time to hear him confront her. He nodded silently in agreement. "And how did you do that?" he chimed in and pointed at Sinead's arm.

Sinead was taken aback when Alexander approached her and started asking her questions. She frowned and murmured, "I don't want to talk about it, okay? It's not your job to worry about me or anything. Please, just... forget it. Forget I ever talked to you, forget you know me. It's better that way." With that, she darted away to the arm room, clumsily carrying her books and supplies with one arm. It was a lot harder than she thought it would be, and he arm really smarted. Luckily it was a clean break and it wouldn't require surgery. But she would be getting a cast withing a day or so. Her dad had threatened her if she told anybody what had happened. How he had had his way with her, and she had finally fought back. How it made him angry, and he bashed her arm with a crowbar so she couldn't escape. How she'd had to lie to the nurses and say she fell on it.

Alexander rolled his eyes. He was going to respond but in the blink of an eye, quite literally she was already gone. He made a soft groaning noise and chased after her. "I though we went over this whole not telling me what to do thing." He told her "Well I am. And you know that I can't forget it." After he said the words he paused. Not entirely sure why he'd said it. It had sort of just come out. He had never even admitted to himself that he worried about anyone else let alone to them. He pulled the books out of her arms shaking his head lightly at her trying to balance them while walking.

"So what'd you do this time? Is it a triped and fell, slipped in water or even better yet pushed a baby out from in front of a bus?"

Sterling was worried now. To hear Sinead say such things, it just about broke his heart for her. He knew without a doubt that something was wrong. And he was determined to find out what it was. But for now he would just be on his way and let Alexander and Sinead have their conversation in private. Sterling walked to his locker and put a few books inside, thankful that he had no homework for the night. He made his way outside to the student parking lot, many people stopping to say 'hi' along the way. He unlocked his Jeep and threw his backpack and gym duffel into the passenger seat. A few hours at the gym will do me some good.

Sinead said, "I'm really not going to discuss this subject with you, especially not here. Now please, give me my books. I can take care of them myself." She took the books from him and put her things on the desk, and then ran to the girls' bathroom so he couldn't get to her. "Now don't try to follow me," she called, her voice echoing through the hall. "Seriously!" She was hiding in a stall, very close to tears. Why couldn't they just leave her alone?

Alexander gave her an exhausted look when yet again she ran away. He leaned against the wall near the bathroom door. "You can't hide in the bathroom. You have a class to get to remember." He called. People passing in the hallway gave him strange looks for talking to a door. "Come on, please come out?" He tied. He tried to change his tone into a more calm, caring and endearing tone as he pleaded with her. "Mind your own God d*mned business." He snarled at a small pod of freshmen girls who then ran away quickly.
