"Ah, yes. Freedom at last." Flynn shut his eyes, and then deeply inhaled the sweet, cold morning air. It was absolutely wonderful to be out in the outside world again. He was interrupted from his bliss when Mr. Rael yelled out, "ALRIGHT! GATHER AROUND, YOU (*)^$%#@% SQUIRTS!" Flynn quickly joined the students gathering around Mr. Rael. With a glare, Mr. Rael barked, "ALRIGHT! LISTEN UP! This isn't any fun little happy hiking trip, this is an exam to see if any of you squirts managed to remember what I taught you in the past month. The goal is to get to the campground by six." With a nasty grin, he added, "If any of you squirts get lost, expect punishment when we get back. Now, I'm going on ahead to the campground." He began to head towards the woods, but not before turning around and adding, "Don't make me have to come get any of you ()&^&^$@ squirts. Are we clear?" Then he headed off.

"In more ways than one, hopefully." Summer muttered, still with a grin on her face as she appriciated the breeze against her skin, rolling up her sleeves to make the most of it. However, Mr Rael yelling at them made Summer jump violently, and she instantly spun around to face him, a frown growing on her face as he continued to speak. When he had left, Summer spun back around to face Flynn and Celia. "Okay, I say we get going, and quickly. We want to get away and ahead." Innocent, normal words, but they would hold a deeper meaning for her friends.

Will had sat in the back of the buss in a seat by himself. He was happy that no one sat beside him along the way. When the bus stopped he climbed off after the others, not really not in a rush to get off. he definitely wasn't too excited about this group exam thing. He was decent at survival but didn't really like it too much and he wasn't very keen on having to spend his time camping with strangers. He stood to the side of the huddle of students, he hoped he could avoid contact with any of the other students. His set his bag down on the ground beside him with a soft thump.

WTH My last Peyton-post didn't show up.... -FML

Peyton barely made it onto the bus in time. She had made a small detour into an empty classroom with a lost janitorial assistant who she made a quick snack out of and left where he would regain consciousness in an hour or so. She sat in the front of the bus and was relieved to get off it into the open space that was the small empty space of green grass before the mass of trees. She found her way to the others. "Am I the only one who thinks that man has some serious anger issues?" She asked in a huff. "Yeah, we need to cover as much ground as possible as quickly as possible."

(Yay!! Alicia :DDD!)

"No, I'm pretty sure that guy has anger issues too. He acts so much like some guy from the army.." Flynn trailed off, knowing that there was a high chance Mr. Rael probably WAS a guy from the army... The EU army, at least. "Anyway, let's go get Will and then head off, since we need to get going ASAP." Without waiting for an answer, Flynn began to glance around, searching for Will. He eventually saw Will standing off away from the groups, by himself. Flynn waved at him. "Hey! Will! Over here!"

William froze in his place. His head turned slightly at the sound of his name. How did this stranger know his name? He didn't respond to the other boy. He simply stared back at him saying nothing. His body was rigid. He didn't want to respond, he had nothing to say to the boy but even if he had he wouldn't have said a word. This always happened with strangers, he found himself almost paralyzed, unable to move or speak.

yay for extreme shyness

"True..." Summer said, biting her lip before turning to wave at Will along with Flynn. "He ain't moving..." Summer frowned, starting to panic slightly. They needed to get going! After a few moments, Summer decided to take the matter into her own hands, moving over to Will with a smile on her face. "Hey. You're in our group." She said, giving him a small nudge. "You should come over to the rest of us, we need to have a... group talk."

Flynn cut in quickly to Summer's words to Will. "Actually, no.." He glanced around, seeing other groups discussing their plans. "We need to get going now. Besides.." He gestured over to some of the other people, hoping the others would interpret it as a sign that meant he didn't want to risk talking around all these other people, especially the nearby muscleheaded jock group who were BFFS with Mr. Rael.

Celia smiled slightly, gazing up at the sky. It was a clear day -- neither cold nor warm. The perfect weather. After a while of day-dreaming, she nodded in agreement at Flynn, as she glanced over to the jocks worriedly. "Uh-huh. I'm not sure who we can trust here, anyway." she said, referring to the group a few meters away who were to be looking at them strangely. Well, seemed. You could never be sure. Frowning, she glared back at them and they turned away quickly.

Summer nodded, glancing around too. She was well aware that she was one of the smallest here, and probably the youngest too. She had no idea if there was anyone in her age group around... they certainly weren't in her camping group at any rate. Returning to the real world, Summer took a few steps forward towards the woods as an indication that they should start moving, gradually picking up speed until she was at the entrance to the woods. It was then that she stopped, turning around. "Okay, so, how are we gonna navigate this place?"

Flynn held up a hand drawn map of the mountain and forest in one hand, along with a compass in his other hand. Lowering his voice as silent as he could so only the group could hear, he said, "Let's go the same direction as the others, but then go west and then go south as planned. Hopefully, no one will notice us, and hopefully they'll just think we got lost."

Summer nodded, not looking at Flynn due to the fact she was copying the map onto her sketchpad for future reference. "Okay, let's get going." She said, properly entering the woods. She walked for a bit before stopping, frowning as she turned to the others. "Uh... all of this looks the same." She said, a hint of panic in her voice. "How're we going to find our way through, never mind get out- argh!" Summer stumbled as she tripped over a tree root, slamming onto the ground. "Ow... does this mean I fail survival?"

Grinning, Celia raised her eyebrows and said "Probably.". Stepping over the tree roots carefully, she gazed around the forest distastefully. She never had been one to like the nature; well, not the "land" nature, anyway. All that mud, dirt and leaves which would never come off. Disgusting. "Ugh. This place is full of thorns and nettles. How are we ever gonna find anywhere to sleep?" she complained, tapped her foot with displeasure.

Flynn laughed at Summer, but then stepped onto a thorn. He angrily looked down at his shoe, where the thorn was engorged in. Tugging it out, he threw it aside. "How we're gonna sleep here? I have no idea," Flynn grumbled as he stared down at the ground, trying his best not to get anymore thorns stuck in his shoe. "Well, anyway, let's go a little farther north before we start heading our way."

"Do you think we'll really have to sleep here?" Summer asked, frowning down at the ground. "And anyway... it's not like I know much about camping and tents etc, but don't you get a... a... oh, heck, what's it called...?" Summer pondered for a few moments before suddenly getting it, grinning. "A groudsheet! Yeah, that would keep the thorns and stuff out..."

(Must.. Keep.. Alive..)

"Do we even have a groundshed?" Flynn asked, as he narrowly avoided stepping on a thorn. God, he hated this stupid forest. It made things harder than they should have been. "I hope we do, because otherwise, we're gonna have to start tying our sleeping bags to trees, and sleeping in trees. Granted tree branches around here don't have thorns all over them either..."

*does CPR on RP*

"Groundsheet, and no." Summer corrected Flynn. "I'm not even sure what one looks like, so if I were to... draw one," She said, automatically lowering her voice. "I would have to improvise and pray it worked." She came to a halt, thinking. "Maybe we should stop and check what we actually have... or should we keep moving?"

(SUPER REVIVAL POWAARS)

"Keep moving." Flynn took the map of the mountain out of his pocket, and gazed at it for a couple of moments before folding it and putting it back in his jean pocket. "We're only a short way from where I think we should go until we should begin to heard south towards safety. We're gonna have to figure out where we should go, exactly, though. I mean, how south should we go?"

"Flynn... how do we know we're going to be safe at all? For all we know, we could be in Canada, and we know how 'safe' that is now!" Summer pointed out, pausing only for a second or two to tug a vine or something away from her shoe. "And I don't know... again, it depends where we are. What do you think?"

Squeezing his eyes shut, Flynn took a deep breath, and then exhaled. "I have no idea. But that's why we're heading south, to get out of Canada ASAP. Once we get to the States, we'll be safe for sure. As long as we reach some American town, we'll be safe. We just have to keep running."

Summer nodded, although she now looked rather scared. "Better get moving then, hadn't we?" She said in a light-hearted voice, in an attempt to sound normal. Clutching the strap of her backpack, she picked up the pace, fighting her way through trees and general forest debris. "I still can't believe all of this..."
