"Gnh...gnhhh...gnh!" Isan tossed back and forth in his bed with discomfort. He opened his eyes with great difficulty, and was barely able to make out the time on his alarm clock. "Five minutes 'til the alarm," He groaned. Isan hated waking up before the alarm went off; he could never fall back asleep, and those were precious minutes of sleep he had lost. Isan pulled his bed comforter over his head with an annoyed whine.
That's when he noticed that something was off about his bed. It seemed as though a few hard lumps had formed in the mattress just below his buttocks. Isan sighed; this was probably the cause of his discomfort and early awakening. He reached his hand downwards with the purpose to pound out the lumps.
Isan gasped as his hand ended up touching something smooth and round. He jumped out of bed, suddenly fully awake, and pulled back his bed sheets with one swift sweep.
"NANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII?!?!?!?" He shouted, staring disbelievingly at the "lumps" in his mattress. There, on his bed in the exact spot where his bottom had been all night, were three brightly colored eggs of red, blue, and pink. All three had a plaid design on them and a large black stripe encircling the middle of the shells. On the first, several red rose insignia formed a basic pattern across the black stripe. On the second, blue hibiscuses, and the third, pink cherry blossoms. Isan grabbed a fistful of hair, pulling it until the searing pain made it very clear that this was not a dream.
"Ow! Kuso, that hurt..." He cursed, rubbing his head. Isan looked back down at the three tamago. How could this be possible? He thought, still in shock. He laid three eggs? Isan picked up the red egg, marveling at its warmth. There was definitely a little life of some sort inside of there; nothing else could explain it's radiant heat.
"Maybe..." Isan stared at his bedroom door nervously for a few seconds just to make sure no one was about to burst in. After determining that the coast was clear, Isan snatched up the other two eggs in his arms, dashing over to his bookbag. Isan emptied out a relatively padded compartment in the bookbag, and then placed the three eggs inside instead. After looking inside at them nestled together in the compartment, Isan zipped it back up and sighed. His heart was pounding with uncertainty."Maybe...I can get them to hatch...?" Isan finished his previous thought out loud. What strange creatures could be residing inside such unbelievably flashy eggs? This was something he simply couldn't not find out the answer to.
"Get what to hatch, nii-san?" Isan let loose a small squeak. His brother, who had snuck into his room not but a couple of seconds ago, was standing directly behind him. Isan spun around and sweatdropped, waving his hand in front of his face disarmingly.
"Ohhh, it's nothing~ Just get back to your morning routine, okay Jaredo-kun?" Isan managed to push his nosy little brother out of his room successfully before Jaredo could start snooping. Isan closed the door, sliding down onto the ground with a huff. "What in the world is going on?"
