My cat has a heart murmur

I might sound a bit stupid but what is a heart murmur? I hope your kitty gets better though I love kitties.

I'm not 100% sure, but if I was told correctly it's when you can hear the blood rushing through the heart, and it COULD get serious. Not always though.
