She rolled her eyes, put took it anyways, running it up a easy side of her calf- she was surprised by how much it took off.

Jade opened her eyes as best as she could. They felt heavy, made of lead, or iron, so heavy. She stared up at bright fluorescent lights, white and pale. She realized how cold she was, then found that she didn't feel cloth upon her. She was undressed, completely. Then she tried to move. Gasping, tears sprung to her eyes as she felt excruciating pain surge through her whole body. Being careful not to move too much, she saw what was tormenting her: tubes, numerous, were inserted into her arms, legs, stomach, chest, neck. Some of them were IV tubes, others were made of metal. Her blood was a strange mix of crimson, with streaks of silver. They were drawing blood, spinal fluid, anything they could.

Then she remembered what had happened:

Jade sat beside her younger brother under the canopy of trees. They were eating some berries and nuts they had scraped up. It wasn't much, but it was good enough for now. It would certainly tide the pair over.

Toby smiled sadly at Jade. "Well, we can't go home, that's for sure. What do you propose?"

Jade mulled this over, her eyebrows furrowing with concentration. "Well.... I'm not exactly sure. Perhaps we could find others like us, seeking refuge here." Then her mouth twitched slightly. "You know what, Toby, I'm really hungry. Do you think you could find some more berries for me?"

Toby, generous as he was, nodded and smiled. "I'm still hungry as well. Besides, we need to stock up for the next few days." With that, he wandered back into the darkness.

Then everything happened very quickly. Figures jumped from the darkness, and Jade swung her fists angrily at them. Then, she felt something warm dripping down the back of her head. She fell to her knees, then went prostrate on the ground. Then there was darkness.

She held him close, kissing his nose. "How long has it been?"

There was not much to say about Croy himself but that he had recovered, almost fully, to his former sate over the few days they went absent, and was back to being the bitter, nasty little... thing that he was. Except now he was more nasty and bitter then ever before, and the crows couldn’t figure out what happened to that 'old lune', so they began to watch for forest for him (Being eaten by him wasn’t a pleasant thing, and neither was being spat on by him, for that matter). Croy himself was ravaging himself over the fact that he had so cruelly dispatched those two people, the only two people who ad actually tried to help him in so many years he didn’t care to remember. He ravaged himself so hard, in fact, that he went looking for them to do something he never really did- apologize. And finding them shouldn’t have been so hard, but apparently, they moved a lot faster then he though.
