Alli had returned to the forest, looking for Aviance. It had been probably been a good week, and he was finally done with the transformation. "Avian!" He yelled for probably the hundreth time already.

 
Aviance lifted her head, hearing her name. "Can it be!?" She gasped, then jumping to her feet, running towards the voice calling to her. "Alli!" She yelled in return, beaming as she approached him, still running. She threw herself into his arms. "Alli, beloved, darling, you're here!"

 
Anja could see it in his face. "Please, don't cry?"

Alli wrapped around her, his eyes closing. "Excuse me if I smell like dirt. I woke up, buried in dirt." He whispered in her ear. "It's been a while. I missed you."

 
"I'm sorry... It's just..." He said, a tear coming to his eye. He wanted to tell her about Kira, but didn't know how.

 
"I've missed you just as much," she whispered in return, her voice caught between notes of joy and sobs of relief. "Everything was wrong without you, a part of me was gone. And I don't even care if you smell like dirt, at least you're here."

 
"Somethings on your mind." Anja decided.

Alli smiled gently, "you missed me that much? I'm sorry you were without me for so long..." He was paler than the last time they met.

 
Aviance pulled back slightly, looking up at him, stroking the side of his face. "You look unwell. Alli, sit down, I'll get you something to eat and drink. And then... I want you to tell me everything. I haven't slept ever since you left, I've been worried sick."

 
"Metax?" Anja whispered.

"Avian, I'm fine. Beleive me- I haven't been in the sun, so I'm dulling out. Thats all." He whispered. "I'm sorry you were so worried." He kissed her hand.

 
Aviance murmured, "I was scared that you wouldn't come back... and then I'd be alone for good, like I used to be." With her other hand, she played with her engagement necklace, the one Alli had made for her what seemed like forever ago. They had both grown up a lot since they first met, she could tell. Her love for him had changed too-- it had become much stronger, much deeper. And before her eyes, Alli was becoming a man. She didn't know how she had changed, maybe someday he could tell her. But at the moment, all she wanted was to be with him, and to take care of him.

 
"Don't apologize." Anja whispered.

Alli kissed her cheek, "I'd never leave you behind; especailly not by choice. Never never never!" He smiled, "it feels good to look at my beauty again."

 
Aviance smiled up at him, and gently kissed his lips. "I'm so happy that you're home." She pulled him close and held him there, glad to feel him in her arms again.

 
"Close your eyes." Anja whispered.

Alli smiled, "you feel so very warm. So much better than the trees did when I slept in them."

 
Aviance murmured, "I can't even bear the thought of you being out there alone. Please don't leave me again. I won't be able to take it."

 
Anja kissed his eye lids- something normal where she was from. She smiled.

Alli bit his lip. "It's either I keep vanishing like this for a week, or you... Vanish forever."
