"His parents went away, and left him and his sister. He thinks they wont come back, and he hates them." She whispered. "That is why he is mean."

The little girl shifted a bit. "Don't wake him, I don't think so. He would be mad at you, I think. He even gets mad at me now, and calls me a coward. What is a coward?"

Jade eventually pulled herself out of the chasm, then made sure to close it behind her. Exhausted, she lay on the cold ground, sobbing, her chest heaving violently. She wanted Croy there, with her, to help her, to hold her. The once proud young woman was, in fact, feeble and broken. She needed someone to understand, to assist her in piecing herself back together again.

Rolling onto her back, she stared up at the foggy, cloudy sky. It was the twilight hour, the gap between darkness and light, in a sense. The clouds were now shades of red and purple. The sun was beginning to penetrate this area once more. It was a hopeful sign. Perhaps one day, she could bring Croy here, and things would be peaceful and happy.

Croy landed softly behind his ward, approaching silently as all his ears swerved forward, directed toward her so that he may have the clearest view. Croy, blind, could see farther then any other normal human, he thought to himself. He didn't have to assume- he knew. He had heard her a distance off- her claws, nails, scratching at the walls of the enclosure benieth as something continued to drive her mind into madness.

Instead of taking a hostile approach he was prone to act off of (Which, thankfully, he was sure of himself would not work here), he just sat beside her, his wings folding over her shoulder, warm, dark feathers falling into her hair and shoulders, into her fingers. He said nothing, in case he startled her.

"Please." She whispered. "He is the oldest, I think. He is a twin to Kiara."

Jade, suddenly feeling the sensation she had been waiting for, turned to Croy, and nearly threw herself into his arms. She cried silently, not wanting to annoy him with sobbing. Besides, she was too exhausted to sob. "You came for me," she breathed, her voice filled with joy, disbelief, and sadness, all at once. She was jubilant that he had come for her, but she hadn't expected him to. Things had been so tense when she stormed away, she had been afraid he would never want to be near her. But, she was still sad, over the sufferings of her life, and how they had culminated. But here was, in her opinion, her only ray of light: Croy.

Whether he knew it or not, she had become personally tied to him in no way she had ever felt for anyone before. She felt like, without him, her world would end. However, for fear of annoying him or freaking him out, she didn't plan to tell him that any time soon.

"Its okay.' He whispered, lips close to her cheek. Long gray-yellow nails caressing her chin. "It's all going to be okay. Here, come with me- " He picked her up slowly, holding her close. "-And we will fly. You can sleep if you like, if it makes you feel better..."

His wings spread wide, black feathers falling to the floor. His blind eyes were fixated on her face. "I know your tired, so just sleep, and everything will be okay."

Parade nodded slowly. "Okay. But don't let him bite you."

Jade tried to focus her vision on him, but her fatigue had made her weary. Things that she saw began to double and shift of their own accord. She was barely able to murmur, "I love you, Croy..." Her eyelids fluttered, then closed. Her body became limp, heavier, which always occurs when one sleeps. She did not dream, she merely saw blackness all around. The sounds she heard merely became slight wooshing noises, and then died down to silence.

"Good girl." He whispered, to no one in particular, as the wind whipped through her hair and he flew through the sky. The air was crisp with the scent of a new day- it would be morning soon.

She rolled on her back and turned into a puppy, before rolling back over and letting her tongue loll in reply.

Jade didn't know how long she had been sleeping when she slowly opened her eyes, staring up at her beloved. "Are we still flying?" She murmured, resting her head against him, to look out at the sky. The grief had dimmed slightly, becoming a strange numbness, not completely unpleasant to her. It was better than feeling sorrow.
