Nathaniel hissed, and suddenly jumped in front of Tettra. "Excuse me? Who do you think you are? Trying to take my sole reason for being alive anymore?" His eyes turned a violent shade of purple, staring Croy down evilly.

Croy suddenly sneered at this.. thing in front of him, and easily swept him aside with one blow of the hand. This made Tettra cry out, And Croy pulled her close to calm her down, long, spindly, knobbed fingers running down her back with slow, jerky motions, as if they were caught up in a sort of friction. She sobbed out, "But why."

"Because living with him will kill you. It will happen. You will... become sick, and you will not get better. And you will die. What would Sunne do if he caught you with such a thing? The same. But he is not here, and I am.... and as your brother, I want you to come back with me."

she was crying, but she didnt object as he stroked her. "A second chance for me, if you will." He whispered. "I so wanted to see you grow up... but it was taken from me. Please, little sister... I dont want to be alone again. Why give up your life so soon? At all? You are so beautiful, little sister. Dont waste such... perfection... on this."

He sat there, silent, turning slowly a bright shade of red. It was instinctual. He could not help it. He watched her, traced her movements through th camp, brown eyes seemingly brighter then they could have been before.

Jade sat down and started sewing patches on things, pants, shirts, anything that needed mending, she had it. She occasionally glanced in Jackson's direction and smiled.

Nathaniel growled, "DON'T TOUCH ME." He shot up, and snatched Tettra away from Croy, holding her tight in his arms. "Tettra, please, don't listen to him. Please! Stay with me, and Screech. A lovely family we shall be, with a home and children and everything! Together, happilly forever." Tears burned his eyes, and he wiped them, "Please, Tettra, please! I've lost so much already- I don't want to lose you as well."

And every time she did, he would grin triumphantly, his eyes glittering. Eventually, he laid down in the grass, hands behind his head, staring up at the sky.

Croy retched suddenly, the ichor falling from his mouth in a sheet and burning away all the life below him. Feathers fell around his feet. He was obviously sick.

Tettra, though, clung to Nathaniel, despreatly, not sure what to do. She was sobbing, but it was a quiet sob, wracking her body but with little sound. And when Croy was done, he stood, and his head, slowly, slowly, turned to the pair. All four of his bluegray ears pressed to his head, his gray and white, fluffy-looking hair blowing around amoungst them, over his face. He was a freak, but still... he was something almost beautiful, even with the unseeing blank eyes, and the mouth of such evil toxin touching it could kill you, with rows of sharper teeth then that of any shark, the blue skin, the four ears. "You, person." He said, licking his lips with a long, thick forked tongue. It oozed the poison. "Do you love her? With all of your heart and soul? Would you let her suffer?"

Nathaniel looked scared, but shook it off. He stared at him, eye to eye. "No, I would not let her suffer. I love her, and the hell with what you think of it." He leaned down again, resting his head against Tettra's.

Jade eventually finished the mending, and she started to deliver the clothes to their proper owners. She went from tent to tent, introducing herself.

By this time, though, Jackson was sleeping- it was something he did as often as possible.

"Well, your going to kill her." He whispered. "I suppose youve heard me talk about that? She sgoing to di-"

"Its to late for you." She said, quietly, suddenly. All her emeotions suddenly drained away, and her voice was hollow. She was not sobbing, she was just there. "It is to late for you. It is to late for me. The damage is done."

He looked slightly disturbed. "What do you mean?"

"You have succumbed to your emotions like I have mine, to a human... or is it two, for you? You have let them in and so it is to late for you. You are selfish, though, Croy, that I know, and see- You do not want to become mortal, or die. But you dont want to be alone. So you will take me too, even though I have opened my heart to mortals and it is to late for me. You love someone, but you love yourself more, and you are dying because of it."

He was silent.

"I will not die like you. But if I do, at least he will know I loved him more then myself. I will not go with you, croy, and I am sorry I reject you like Sunne did so many years ago- I am not like him- But I dont want to go. So, good bye, you. Croy. May y-"

She was cut off when he let out a shriek, a deafaning one, to shatter all that is around. Tettra covered Nathaniels ears and it, for one reason or another, muffled the sounds- but trees shattered and fell, and two animals dropped dead from them, visably. When this shriek died off, he yelled in some language, to Tettra again, and she seemed to recover her emotions and sobbed again.

Jade looked up, thinking she heard a noise. She shook her head, and went back to what she had been doing: cooking dinner.

Croy looked almost calm, but his hands were opening and closing- and blood dripped from them onto the ground, thick, dark blood, that sizzled with the contact. out of nowhere he lept foreward and took Tettra by the arm (She, again, did not protest) And released his ash wings, flying them up into the sky. He may not have been taking her away for good, but he was taking her somewhere.

Jade kept cooking, using things that she had found and that some of themen had hunted. It actually smelled quite delicious, for outdoor cooking.

Of course, they seemed to be gone- however, far into the distance, there were two birds, one mottled gray and black falcon, and then Tettra, and they were flying around each other in some odd way. At one point they locked claws and dove into the forest, dissapering into the trees.

After a long while, Jackson poked his head in, his yes bright. "Heya!" He said, smiling.

"Hello," Jade said, smiling beautifully up at him. She continued to stir the stew she had been cooking.

Nathaniel sighed, and just gave up. He was sure she'd come back- he just, hopefully, knew it. He landed on a tree, and sat there. It was the same one Willard had sat on years ago, with Axie, as they hid from the sun. But ofcourse, he didn't know that even happened.

Screech came out of hiding then, landing on his protector. He looked up from his cute little snout at him, looking hungry.

blood

Being so small, it was understandable he was a vampire bat. He looked weak

I need it soon, or I will die.

Which was also true, because vampire bats could last little more then two days without blood.
