I actually the rudest and most annoying people are the ones who go out of their way to be different. The ones who say, (even when they're not getting made fun of) "I'm different and proud of it!" What's so great about being different? Everyone's already a different person than everyone else, they don't need to go wear weird clothes and say odd things just so they can make a point or stand out.
Labels make it easier to identify people. Yes, it is not right to judge people without meeting them. But everyone does that anyways, whether they make up a 'label' for that person or not! We can't all know everything about everyone, so having a word that describes what they mostly like to do and wear makes it easier.
THANK YOU! *applauds!*

I thought of this but never quite figured out how to put it in words. x.x

I hate the whole "I'm different! So I'm going to put purple undies on my head because I'm different!' Even if you wore the same clothes as your best friend, same hair style, same make up ect. that doesn't make you any less the same if you did actualy wear purple undies on you head.

I've wanted to say this for the longest time. YOU get brownie points for win and awesome.

Although, the American culture seems to be one where people are always told to be different and individual and to stand out, and people seem to be overly wrapped up in the fact that different is ALWAYS better then sameness. I even had to debate "Diversity is better then sameness" as the con. Guess who lost by a landslide?

(Oh, and everyone judges. That's how you live.)

I am constantly labeled; perhaps I bring it on with my dress, attitude, and music taste, but I don't plan to. I am constantly called a punk, which I consider a compliment, but when people call me that, they're missing a whole other side of me. I am also a swing dancer and I love listening to swing sometimes. The biggest problem with labels, I think, is that it pigeon-holes people into one category and they can't expand their interests because they feel as if they can't. I don't know if that makes sense to you guys, but if you think about it, it will.

It's never going to stop, and making a topic about it doesn't really help. It just keeps reminding us that labels are out there - when actually it really isn't a big deal.

So what if someone thinks your popular/emo/goth/jock or whatever it's their opinions and I thought peoples opinions didn't matter?

I remember my friends (me and my friends likes toots\farts) 1 day in class they were crazy and put labels behind other kids back like "fart on me" lol
