Lucy told him, "Believe me, I've tried. I just have an innate ability to mess it up. Really, I'm very hopeless when it comes to art." She pulled him closer, to kiss at the most sensitive spot on his neck, relaxing in his arms. Her arms were finding their way up the back of his shirt. She brushed her fingers against his bare skin, surprised at how smooth it was against her fingers. She gently bit at his neck, humming.

"You can do anything, I know you could," Asher said, his voice getting softer with every word, as he began to shiver at the touch of her hands and her kissing his neck. He turned his face into her neck to try and keep himself from making a noise as she bit down on his neck.

Lucy sucked on his neck for a while, before pulling her lips away with a slight popping noise. She kept her hands firmly planted on his back, his torso pressed against hers. "Are you all right?" She whispered, moving her lips to his jawline. "Did that feel okay?"

Lucy nodded, then went back to kissing up and down his jawline as gently as she could. She pulled her hands from his shirt, and wrapped them loosely around his neck, as she tried to figure out what was going on inside of her. Whenever he got close, her heart seemed to be crushed in her chest, she got butterflies. She could only seem to think about him, she felt completely happy, and she could be herself. And she felt like her feelings kept intensifying.

Asher put a hand up to cup her face in it, while the other held her around her waist. He tilted his head up for her slightly, so she could kiss his jaw more easily. "It was better than nice, actually," he murmured. "I was just afraid to say it."

Afraid to say it... The words kept echoing in her head. And she knew: she was afraid to tell him how she felt. But why? Because she had told someone she loved them before. And now they were dead. What if she told Asher she loved him, but then something happened? She was scared of being hurt again, but at the same time, she wanted so desperately to tell him everything, to spill out her heart for him.

Lucy quickly brought her hands up, cupping his face between them. "Asher, don't you ever apologize to me, for being honest. I should apologize to you. I haven't told you everything about me, things you ought to know." She took a deep breath, then murmured, her lips brushing against his, "I love you, Asher. I love you, and I need you here with me." When she told him that, she felt this indescribable joy, an insane thrill. She loved him, and now he knew.

Asher almost didn't believe her at first when she told him not to apologise. But he knew, when she told him she loved him, that she wasn't saying it just to make him feel better anymore. He did feel better, of course, he felt wonderful that she could tell him that, considering everything. "I love you, too, Lucy. You know I do."

Lucy told him, "I want you to be able to be honest with me, Asher. Because I'm so in love with you, I'll stay with you no matter what you tell me. I was scared, of being broken hearted again. But It's not worth hurting you, hiding my feelings." She kissed him deliberately, firmly, completely enamored by him.

"I'm glad that you feel that you don't have to anymore," Asher replied. He could only hope that he would never let her down. He would never try to, of course, and so he told himself that he couldn't. He loved her, and that was something she could count on. He kissed her back, less restrained than he ever had been before.

Jesse kept walking, his hands jammed into his pockets. He looked around, glad that there weren't crowds of people on the sidewalk today. It frustrated him, when people would slow him down by walking slow, or just stopping in the middle of the street. Really, some people didn't know how to walk.

Lucy smiled and said, "I'm glad that I've been able to tell you that I love you. Not saying anything was starting to hurt me physically." She held him close, sighing with content. "You make me feel so happy, and wonderful, and you give me something to be happy about."

"I wasn't expecting you to say it back to me so soon. I was willing to wait as long as it took for you to tell me-- I mean, I understand why it was that you couldn't say it to me," Asher told her. "But I am glad. And you make me feel happy, too. I haven't been so happy in a very long time."

Lucy beamed up at him, then pressed her lips against his forehead. "Asher, if you'll let me, I'll keep trying to make you happy until you get tired of me, and want me to leave. I hope that day won't be soon or anything, though." She pulled him close, and simply held him there.

Asher looked somewhat shocked by her words. "You expect that I'll get tired of you? Don't say that, Lucy. I don't think I could get tired of you if I tried. I know it's early days, but I just can't imagine it.."

Lucy said, "So... you intend on being with me for more than a month or two, right? I mean... nobody really seems to take relationships seriously, at least not around here." She reached down and took his hand, entwining her fingers with his.
