I just got my first furby today. I always wanted one when I was younger but never could afford one. But was wondering what all I can do with it? Right now it just says random things, seems no matter what I say or do. Are there games can play with it? Would love some ideas.

You can't play games with 2012. That's what makes them worse than originals or even emototronics (hey, they had one game and commands, come on.)

You can feed it, "talk" to it, make it change personalities, make it dance and stuff like that.

Thank you for the fast response. Although my Furby doesn't do much, I must say she is growing on me. I have tried all the personalities with her and have to say I enjoy the nice one the most. I did order off ebay today an original 1998 Furby as well. I can't wait till it arrives. I'm adicted I think, LOL.

The new Furby are pretty nice. I love mine. I have the App with mine. Feeding it food, the reactions from Furby can be pretty funny. I find I use the speech feature most. If you want a game, you can mess with the Furby Online stuff. Hitting an icon and it will react to whatever you hit.

I would guess, in the future, its possible Furby may get an update through the Wifi/App feature... Maybe a code word could unlock Furby we don't know about yet. Even if its just in the App, the App might get an update of a game or two to play with your Furby. I know some people don't have something the App can be on though.

I am hoping they have a DS game to interact with Furby. (or another game system too) since the Furby use sound and quiet sound waves to hear the App running. Sounds like a little churping sound to me. I can hear it but other people around me can not. It would be a bit easier for a person without a Smart Something to use.

I really, really want this new Furby! My parents are super against it for some reason. :( I've been begging for days and they keep saying it has no practical use. -_-

A lot of things have no practical use, even one could say Tamas don't. And yet people are out there, buying super expensive cars, expensive homes, yachts, etc, and for what? Oh it's not really super practical, they just want it. Better example would be collecting things like war memorabilia--what's the point? To show it off or other reasons. Is it practical? Nope!

I almost got one, they had an all black one at Target. But 60 bucks, eesh.... I'd rather get something else for that price to be honest. We still have our Furby, Furby Baby, and also a Gizmo, too. Thing is, can the new Furbys talk to the old ones or Gizmo?

Also, i don't think the new ones are as cute--the ears aren't fluffy anymore. :(

the ears on the new furby look a tad dangerous haha i wanna get one for my lil neice tho, cos i know how much it will annoy my sister! lol

as for them not being practical.....of course they're not, neither are tama's! things like this are fun and purely for entertainment, besides, money is for spending.....so go crazy i say :D

I agree many things that we buy aren't "practical". Is it practical for an adult like me to buy a furby? No, but I still bought one and have another on the way because they are just fun.

I actually prefer the rubbery ears of the 2012 Furby over the fabric ears of the original. And I don't care if buying a Furby is practical or not. I love them and I'm going to continue to purchase them.

I don't know if anyone has seen the video that came out on https://see.walmart.com/furby on New Year's Eve but at one point in the video down at the bottom it says furbies reacting to the new furby app coming out in February 2013 and the furbies seemed to have a different personality then the ones that there are now. Also you can see pictures of the new furby party rockers coming out later this year.

I'm not sure what to think about the Party Rockers. I do kind of like the one with the horns. Oh who am I kidding? I'll probably end up buying them all.

One kinda cool but also kinda annoying thing about the party rockers is it looks like they all have thier own personalities so you might have to buy all of them if you want all of the personalities.

EDIT: My favorite party rocker is the pink one. Does anyone else think that the pink one looks a lot like fluttershy from MLP: FiM?

Will be curious to see if any new features come out on the app. Right now there just isn't much. And as far as the party rockers. I know for sure that I will NOT be getting one. They are just too weird and ugly looking. At least the furby's are cute.

Wait a minute... The ones with the hair top, they are the party rockers? If so... We have those all over the place here. I like the auqa/pink one... But I thought those were more of the first release. They pulled a fast one on me? As much as I love Furby, weird...

New app in Feb? Haha. Sweet.

I used this argument as well, but my parents continue to say no. I guess they are more afraid that if they buy it, I'll only use it for a day or something and abandon it. They've bought me some pretty expensive Tamas before so I don't really see why they are against it now. Maybe they are just shocked by how much they cost. Whatever, I guess. I suppose their arguments are valid.

Sigh... I really want a party rocker, but not only they are FOR NOW waay more expensive than the the normal ones, I don't think my mom will agree on me getting one. Heck. she already promised me P's anyway for no particular reason, so I don't think I should hope for any 2012 furby soon.

But it's a nice feature that each generation does something different!

Actually, the party rockers are these: https://furby2012blog.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/immagine-1.png?w=300&h=258 (Check https://see.walmart.com/furby for a better picture.)

On Walmart.com it shows the regular furbies and the party rockers both at $54.

I just grabbed two pairs of Furby Frames (the plain black and yellow one) and I say the plain black one looks cute on my teal Furby :D ... although it tends to go out of place a bit when it laughs its belly off :p

You guys are making me wanna start up my old ones, lol. Can the new ones chat with the old ones?

I doubt it. The new ones seem to react to sound whereas the old ones communicated through infared signals. A new Furby would react to the sound an old one was making, but they wouldn't really be communicating the way two old ones or two new ones would.
