Aurora sat next to Kurokai. "My dear Kurokai, what is troubling you?" She asked, tilting her head to the side and peering at him closely.

"nothing actually..iits strange..in all this destruction i finally feel at peace..."

"Hm... I wonder why that could be," she mused thoughtfully, leaning her back against the tree alongside him. "Peace seems to be found so rarely now."

"hmph..mypeaceis destruction...because thats how my life began, will end, and how i discovered the gift of black magic"

"But that isn't true peace, is it," she asked turning to look him in the eye, her face oddly close to his. "Does that bring love or hope?" She turned away suddenly, getting to her feet in a swift motion. "Forgive me... I was out of line."

"no..my peace is an unconditional one..when people die from disasters...it reminds me of the first day i learned magic..." he looked to the sky "and i dont mind being questioned or otherwise.."

Aurora looked back at him and murmured, "If you love someone, can't that be unconditional too?" She smiled then shrugged, looking to the sky as well. "There are many wonders beyond the sky, you know... things that many have never seen. Someday, I will take you there and show you, if we survive this ordeal."

he looked at her and smiled lightly "i rarely find other people..or humans atleast...that even stop to speak to me...let alone hold entire conversations..."

Aurora moved and looped her arm through his, instead of holding onto his hand. "The darkness has changed everything, hasn't it? Places that were once beautiful have become desolate. Lives have been wrought by destruction and terror..."

"That is true, our abilities will look much flashier, and will be used much more often than if there were peace," Aurora mused, nodding slightly. Smiling, she said, "I think, though, I've been through more war and battle than any young woman should have to experience."

"well in my opinion thats going through just one....especially for a beautiful young woman...anyway whats your secret?...what cant you tell us in open areas?..."

Aurora looked around carefully, then pulled him aside, making sure no "enemies" could hear. "I am the last of the summoners. We were killed off years ago, but I managed to escape. I was the princess of the summoners, and was intended to be queen. But now I am the queen of nothing. I have no home, no people of my own."
