"He wasn't always like this. He used to be just as brutal as me." Nicola laughed softly. "What else would you expect from someone trained by me?"

"Well, I guess you're right..." Lucien sighed. "So what happened? Why did he change?"

"Not sure, but I can hazard a guess. I went to visit him just before I changed you. He was different. The girl was there." Nicola explained, rolling her eyes.

"Still, how could he soften up for the girl that much?"

 

[tamaturtle]

"Goodness knows. Either way, I intend to harden him up again." Nicola tilted her head, watching Lucian carefully. "Would you say she was... 'special'?"

"Who, Jessica?" Lucien asked.

 

[tamaturtle]

"Yes, Jessica." Nicola sighed, approaching the forest.

"No, not at all. She was anti-social and no one really liked her that much."

"Goodness knows why Damien's become so attached to her then." Nicola frowned, approaching Damien's house and opening the door. "Damien, sweetheart?"

"What the *#^* do you want?" Damien asked.

Nicola acted offended, putting a convincing look of hurt and concern on her face. "We're not here to attack you or your... friend, love. What's happened?"

"She died, killed by a vampire in her sleep." Damien said softly.

Nicola fought back a smile, covering her mouth up with her hand. "Oh... well, I guess it was to be expected. The vampire probably just thought only a human lived here." A pause. "Or have you considered the possibilty it was done by humans and made to look like a vampire attack?"

"Humans wouldn't be smart enough to do that, or know how. So why exactly are you here? You've caused enough pain in my life."

"How do you know? Think about it, Damien. The humans fake a vampire attack on someone they know or have guessed a vampire is protecting, in order to turn said vampire against his kind."

Because the humans have no way of draining every single drop of blood."

"Well, whatever happened, she's dead now." Nicola rolled her eyes, before shaking her head. "Anyway. That's not what I'm here for."
