After a while Faylinn returned to her room, flopping onto her bed and groaning. She'd survived, but how long would it be until she had to go out and... Faylinn winced, unable to complete the thought.
January woke the next morning and rubbed her eyes. She leaned up and looked over at Eon with a smile. "Good morning," she said quietly, "Did you sleep well?"
"No, that's alright, it really seemed to take a lot out of you... I don't want you to have to take my problem upon yourself..." January said, beginning to play with her hair.
"At first, it's just like any other normal day. As the day goes on, you start to lose focus. Finally, when night comes, your mind begins to get fuzzy, all your thoughts blurring together... You become a complete animal...... A monster." January explained, the word 'monster' barely audible.
January choked on her words," I am... I'm absolutely awful..." She looked down at her feet. "That's why I have this.." She then held out the silver spike.
"Well, someone as cute and nice as you couldn't possibly turn into a monster." Eon blushed softly as he said those words. "So what's that do?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
January blushed a little when he called her cute, no one had ever said that to her before. She snapped out of it and replied," If I stab this through my heart, I'll die. I promised myself that if I was ever about to hurt someone that I would kill myself with this silver spike."
Eon looked down. "Please, never do that..." he whispered to January. Noticing the blush on January, his blush brightened. After she had done something as small as the hug she gave him last night, Eon was finding himself to becoming attached to her rather quickly. His emotions changed easily, and he was often upset or angry. But now he was feeling something different, and it was happening fast,
January shook her head. "I can't say I won't...... What if I'm ever about to hurt you?" She clutched the spike in her hand, "I can't let that happen!" January's emotions stirred, and she wasn't quite sure why. The thought of her hurting Eon at this point hit her heart hard.
"January, god forbid that ever happened, I could just stop time long enough to get away. I just don't want anything happening to you..." Eon looked at her. The thought of losing January, well, Eon couldn't handle it.
January clutched the spike so hard that her hand started bleeding. "What if you weren't able to get away? What if you couldn't stop time long enough?" She paused and took in a long, deep breath. "I just..... Don't want to lose you.."
Eon blushed a little. "Well, I don't want to lose you either. I'd rather die then watch yourself use that thing." his blush deepened. "You're the first person ever to not just make fun of me and beat me up, you know my biggest secret, and your my only friend. You can't die!"
