Another thing....
For 4 years I took horseback riding lessons until I got my horse last year.
I remember the first fall I was riding a Quarter Horse named Baldie, and she spooked at a bird and hopped sideways... I flew off but landed on my FEET like 20 feet away xD If I had landed on my head I wouldn't be here to post this.
And another....
My 2nd fall was when I was riding a Thoroughbred (used to be a racing horse) named Utah. I was taking my first 2-foot jump, and there were some "terrifying" fake flowers on them. Well, Utah spooked ONE stride before the jump, he dove over it as though it were 5 feet tall, and he started plunging and galloping away. Of course I was totally unprepared for that, so as we were going over the jump I was flung to the right side, hanging on by my foot twisted in a stirrup, my hand on the reins, and my other hand gripping his mane. So he got dangerously close to the wall, and my face almost smashed into the gate. As he ran by the bleachers I knew I would be killed if I hit them, so I flung myself off right before we reached them. His hooves were literally inches away from my face when I fell. Luckily I was wearing a helmet, and I landed hard on my shoulder, then hit my head. I only got whiplash and my body was as stiff as HELL the next day so my mom had to help me get my stuff into school which was pretty embarrassing because I'm known as the more tough one in class ;_;
And the last
Last year I was riding a brown/black hack horse (absolutely stunning), which was my favorite ride because we just "clicked" and we could do whatever we wanted....Well I was cantering quickly around a corner, and I got up into 2-point (jump position) to practice my balance, and I didn't even realize we were turning the corner, and he made a sharp turn, and I just slipped right off the side. He REALLY loved me though and I'm glad he was so careful, because when I fell I landed under him, and he jumped around me. I wish I could still ride him, but I have my own horse now so I can't
