Why is the tropical surfboard v2 tamagotchi so rare?

My favourite tamagotchi v2 design is the light blue one with a surfboard and a palm tree on it, but it is impossible to find! Why is it so rare, and what is the official name of the design? I really want to get one!

It's been hard for me to find any particular V2 design since they stopped being sold in stores. Maybe V2s aren't as popular as the other Tamas or aren't selling well these days, so not many people are listing them to sell online.
