(It all started when I started watching Avatar - Momo the winged lemur sounds like "mom" so I asked my mom if I could call her that and she was OK with it)

Oops. I forgot 2 say I call my mother Mommy. Yeah, it's kiddy, but I never grew out of it. It would b weird calling her something different after I called her Mommy my whole life.
